Melbourne is not the only state in Australia.

I believe it has been advertised for $699 in january by good guys, retravision & Myers. Price must have gone back up. Its a great TV but not as feature rich as Samsung. Sony has solid reputation for reliability and dont think any other brand comes even close. This TV otherwise is quite boring, doesnt support too many video formats, takes too long to detect USB, etc. I can go on and on. I wouldnt buy Sony TV again.

Also i purchased a Sony wireless dongle for it for $50 online from ebay.

    • so when 'Sony in Europe and the USA issued a statement in october 2011 saying that "in the wake of the incidents and the trade ministry's request, Sony announced that the Bravia models were indeed at risk of overheating due to defective parts." - the catching fire bit was a joke on Sony's part? Didn't know Sony had a sense of humour…

edit: I would just like to declare that I once had a Sony Tv - it didn't catch fire.

  • Only difference between the EX520 and EX720 is the refresh rate. Either way, still need a wifi dongle to get your money's worth, and they are scarce to pick p in store now.

    • And the EX520 does not have 3D

    • You only need the wifi if you can't use an ethernet cable. good deal though I got the model beore this (EX710) and it is great

  • I have the 520. Great TV.. this might be a little too much for the 720 though.
