  • Pretty average specs for the price… I would say this is no bargain. Sorry :)

With these specs at this price? Not a bargain. Just because you quote a high rrp it does not mean people will fall for it.

  • 1.4ghz on an AMD APU, good luck with that.

  • Bought a tonne of these? I reckon you gonna lost a tonne of money.

Sorry you feel that way guys. We are offering a product which Toshiba advertises for $1199 that is cheaper than anywhere else. It is very easy to compare apples to oranges.

      • Given you can get an i7 for the same price, this isn't good value. Doesn't matter that you're comparing different CPUs as the i7 is clearly better in every benchmark. Even brand wise, personally I'd say Asus is better, but safe to say they're not significantly different. It also doesn't matter what the RRP is. If you can get better for the same price, then this isn't good value.

        • You can get an i7 with a BETTER price :).

          My lenovo y560p was $599 (i7-2630QM/8G/750G/6570M).

      • But it's like the apples are fresh off the tree and the orange has been picked up by a 5 year old, half eaten then thrown under the couch & now you just wonder what that weird smell is everytime you watch tv.

  • It must be expensive coz of the rare "5200 Rpm " hdd.
make up your mind is it 5400 or 7200 rpm

Everyone makes mistakes. I have corrected this error.

  • So, I see that the price has now been reduced by a further $150… I take it after the bad reaction at $700 you decided not to try and rip people off by that much?

Just tried to do what was right by the community Carbon, we have a clear price match policy on our site so after I was made aware of the other deals out there we put it into action and as such changed the listing to represent the price on our site. Not a matter of ripping people off rather a retailer willing to negotiate to better our competitors.

      • Sorry, but in this day and age if you were able to drop the price by a further 20% on a laptop, then you were previously trying to rip people off.
