  • Better wait for this if no need for it now https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/609812

Wait? What makes you think that price will return?

What makes you think it won't? Prices go up and down all the time.

I picked up the 5000 from that deal before they could cancel my order. They still ended up cancelling my order after I had already picked it up citing it was out of stock - numerous others commented the same.

I believe it was actually a pricing error and HO mass cancelled them without checking who had collected them already.

          • @cute as duck: I picked it up about 4-5 days later. Staff didn't say a thing.

          • @cute as duck: I received a call saying if I'm happy to wait a week for more stock to come in, I could pick it up then, otherwise they can refund. Obviously I chose to wait the week and picked it up from the store, super happy

          • @cute as duck: I picked it (5000) up then they refunded me it was awesome.

I think this might be a better deal if you don't mind to wait 2 weeks for the Pro 2 2500 with an included travel case for $71.55 ($69.40 with 3% discounted gift cards) delivered from Amazon UK. Use your existing Oral B charger or get an AU plug.

      • $13.73 Delivery
    • Why does it need AA batteries as stated in the spec? Or does it come with rechargeable AA batteries?

      • That would be typo. The thing comes with a
AC charger that you connect to your power socket that you plonk the toothbrush on. The toothbrush does not have removable batteries

Fun fact: 2000 was 21 years ago

    • Would you like a sticky gold star?

      • Would I!!

  • The pro 2 2000 has the exact same performance/battery as the high end models right? Just lacking the 'smart' features/bells whistles etc?

    • +1

This model and all above have the lithium ion battery which is meant to last 2 weeks vs models below this one which I think all have nimh batteries.

And yep, higher models have the pulsating feature, Bluetooth, positioning sensor etc.

    • I believe when I was researching them some of the higher models do have a better motor, but not worth the extra price IMO.

Good deal, but if you want one in black and with a travel case… Myer too has a nice deal @ $89 + Free Shipping.

TGG is also black with travel case @ $79 + $8 shipping though they price matched Chemist Warehouse in store (maybe I just got lucky).

But yeah, Myer is also a decent deal.

    • Black is the new blue :)

  • Has anyone found a USB charger that works for the Oral-B electric toothbrushes?

I've tried one from eBay and AliExpress - refunded because they don't do anything.

    • I'm fairly sure the reason for this is that the normal Oral B toothbrush chargers use 240V AC current, and USB chargers are pretty much all 5V DC current

    • +1

Maybe you’ve just been unlucky because I have one of those generic USB chargers purchased from ebay which works with my pro 2 2000.

  • I thought the 2000 model didn't have lithium Batteries. It was the 2500 that did which was an updated model?

    Update:
Actually they are identical according to the below. 2500 is the same as 2000 but marketed for the UK instead of Australia .

  • I have a Oral-B Pro 700, is it worth upgrading?

  • Got one for $79.95 at Big W on clearance as CW are basically cleaned out for stock.
