  • No i5 is a quad core processor.

    • Not all of them are. Actually pretty sure that no notebook i5 is a quad core. There are even dual core i7's.

EDIT: oops, misinterpreted your comment. Yeah you're right for notebooks, but there are quad core i5s for desktops.

  • Is this 2nd Gen i5?

    • Yes the Core i5 2410M = 2nd Gen. :)

      1366 x 768, give it to me on a 11"

      • Sure - Asus Zenbook UX21E-KX007V 11.6" - 11.6" 16:9 HD (1366x768) LED Backlit Display :)

        @furyou M/F? I only have a 6" ;)

2nd generation Intel processors are easy to spot as their model number is 4 numbers long and the first is a '2'. For example

      1st generation i5
      750
      650
      430
      etc

      2nd generation i5
      2300
      2310
      2500
      etc

Often they will have a single letter after the model number.
'K' means you can overclock it,
'M' means it is the mobile version of the CPU,
      'S' means low power consumption,
'T' means really low power consumption.

      For example
      i3 380M
      i7 2600K
      i5 2400S

      • And the notebook i7s that actually have 4 cores are labelled with a Q, I.e. 2630QM :)

  • Too bad no usb 3 otherwise it's a great deal

I just went to double check the notebook and it has 2 x USB 2.0 and 1 x USB 3.0.. :)

  • What do you mean by 500GB 7200rpm Hybrid SSD/HDD?
I doubt there are both SSD and HDD inside a 14" notebook.

    • +1

Theres not. It's the Momentus Hybrid.

    • Means it that it has a larger than normal high speed cache built into the standard hard drive (only has one drive inside). This improves the read/write rates for things that you access often. The advantage of it is that it gives you high capacity and SSD like speeds.

      • NO mention of it being the newer models or not though. Newer ones have 8gb ssd (4g in old) and much smarter firmware for putting important stuff on the SSD. Guessing that makes it the old type.

  • Note 10 hours battery life (major selling point), the same as the U31

  • This one also looks sweet…

Same price… Bigger and 2Gb Graphics.
    But no SSD/HDD combo thingy.
    750Gb though!

  • It says free shipping to most australian locations, the store is based in Queensland and im in Sydney Metro region but the shopping cart still includes $15 to my total when buying this promotional laptop?

    • Please mention in the "Additional Notes" section about the OZBargin order and it will be removed before the order is processed… The internet sales team will see the special price and remove it anyway but putting in the comments helps.

  • I am looking for a laptop. Rep would you have a similar Laptop with i7 ?
