  • Using this one, first Android phone and pretty happy with it.

  • definitely getting old but still a good alternative to the likes of the new Poco F3… depending on your needs. This would have a much better camera… and DisplayPort alt mode.

  • Good phone typing on it now. The thing is it is unlikely to get android 11. If you don't care that, good value.

    • Does it have an IR Blaster? I know it may be an uncommon request, but I use it all the time.

      • Nope, unfortunately not.

      • No, it doesn't

  • Bextech $419 not the same phone,is it better or worse?

I think the Renno 5G is a lot better.
      AMOLED screen vs IPS
      256GB vs 128GB
      Snapdragon 855 vs MTK

Though the Renno 4 Z seems pretty good. 7nm processor, 120hz 480nits screen though not AMOLED is very good.

  • the a54 just released and is $399 at JB. a74 (same but more ram and rom) is $449.
they are a lower "tier" model, but only just released whilst the reno 5g has been around for a while.
not sure what oppo's commitment is to android/coloros updates is, but surely a newer model will get more future updates.

  • Looks like there's nothing on XDA regarding roms. Does OPPO let you unlock the bootloader?

    • Nothing as far as I can see as I have the phone and this is one thing I would have done after getting it…and Android/ColorOS updates are frustratingly slow…

  • Are these 100% single sim or are there dual sim ones around?

    • +1

Single + microSD card. Dual Sim is for the 4g 10x zoom

  • Is this Dual Sim?

    • See above

  • Can someone explain or link the procedure to get the 5% off ebay gift cards. Never done that before.

    • You can purchase the gift card via shopback app , there is a 5% off swap gift card which you can swap for ebay gift card, the card arrives instantly

  • If I didn't have the 4G model of this phone I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on this deal. Great value and a solid phone.

    • 4g is better imo.i'd have 4g instead of my 5g

      • ??? 5g phones can run on 4g just as well.

        • 5G model does not get software support at the same level as the 4G model. i think it's due to the low sales volume.

I've had the 10x zoom 4g since around June last year. Great phone, you'll see a lot of slander about ColorOS - I personally love it as it's been updated. Don't buy it for the zoom, nothing special and quite grainy. The camera on standard modes is pretty great though. Monster display, and the pop up camera is okay. Bit of a gimmick though, I wouldn't have bought it if I took a lot of selfies. I don't use the face recognition due to the pop-up, but fingerprint is good. Good price, but I think I bought it for about the same, and that was almost a year ago. Still has good specs, camera, software and price.

    • Color os has gotten so much better since 2 years ago
