Why is this so much more expensive than other mesh routers? Does it turn a NBN100 connection in to 200mbps?

Wi-Fi 6, Quad-core CPU, 512MB of RAM and Ethernet ports on all nodes.

Nah to get 250Mbps you need to be on 250Mbps Superfast plan and HFC or FTTP.

        and it's tri-band

    • Mesh is about wifi range and speed. NBN speed is a different matter.

Sorry, my sarcasm obviously didn't come through.

    • Asus :)

  • Just wait for WiFi6E, which I consider as a true WiFi6.

    • Wi-Fi 6E mesh costs double the price.

      You’ll be waiting a while.

  • The lowest price I've ever seen. But my wife would not agree to buy this…

  • I'm sure these are great, but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. I used to have a Netgear X6 R8000 router, but I was having problems where it would overheat and crash when streaming Kayo, and when I upgraded to gigabit NBN, it would max out at my network (wired not just wifi) at about 300mbps (despite it being Cat 6 wired). So I thought before spending $500-600 on a brand name router, I'd try a Xiaomi AX6000. The firmware was in Chinese, but chrome translated it all in realtime for me. Instantly my network and internet speed shot up to 950mbps+ (wired and wifi), and the range is massive (without the need for mesh). Huge upgrade over the Netgear, and I got it delivered for $170 from Aliexpress.

    • 300mbps on gigalan is just wrong, the Netgear is probably defective. The Xiaomi sounds great value, hopefully they keep it up and give Asus serious competition.

      • I think the R8000 was just a defective product.

    • Awesome speed , what kind of range does the wifi get, thinking of dumping my google wifi mesh

      • It depends on your house, and ultimately a mesh would be better, but I get more range from this than the X6 R8000. You can mesh the xiaomi though too, so it's win win. I'm getting over 500mbps from 3 rooms away in a double brick house with brick internal walls. I don't have any drop outs in my house with the Xiaomi. The Netgear was iffy in my furthest rooms.

        • I've used netgear before and had issues over range and have been using google wifi but the limited options and the occasional drop out is becoming a nuisance.

    • I was considering Xiaomi AX6000 and then came across the AX9000 model. Any thoughts on the AX9000 model? do you think its worth it to get AX9000 instead of AX6000?

      • I didn't get the AX9000 because it was over $300 and the AX6000 was only $150+ tax and shipping. I wanted to try it out to see how it works, (and it works amazingly well, way better than the Netgear Nighthawk). I'm still getting ~920mbps on wifi on the AX6000, that's enough for me.
