I was on the hunt for white iPod Touch 32GB last week.
The cheapest I found is at Harvey Norman Alexandria @ $294. They are out of stock 2 weeks ago, but salesman at the store informed me that they should be getting a delivery sometimes this week.
Couldn't wait, went to other HN (Bondi Junction, Broadway), they all have it for $297…. However they don't have any whites. Ended up I got a price match from Apple Store Bondi Junction (they will call stores to verify stock — I was lucky that they don't specifically asked for white coloured stock when they were checking) @ $297… They won't match $294 because it was out of stock.
I also went to Myer Bondi Junction (shockingly expensive, and price match is "below their cost" at $345) and JB Bondi Junction (at $309, but no stock).

Also worth noting that in ALL the stores except Myer (and Apple Store), White iPod sold out…. Only the black ones left…. So they (white coloured iPods) are obviously in demand.
When you (or anyone) finds a good price at HN, threaten to take your dollars to the nearest OfficeWorks to match the HN price. Worked for me at HN City West (WA) - an extra 5% off HN's "best".
