Usually find the shipping charges from Amazon.com a bit prohibitive for books. Your point re RRP is a valid one though. Did you find any of the books on offer cheaper anywhere else given this deal?
Maybe not quite as cheap, but not a great deal more. I think 9-15 days shipping (at least 3 books I have clicked on said that) is too long. Even dymocks will ship in 24 hours.
Maybe if they didn't have to order from overseas once we place an order it would be a better deal ;)
If you can't find anything cheaper from a net point of view then why call it a bad deal? If the net result is that they are supplying you with the titles listed at the cheapest available price and also offering you free shipping if you spend $50 or more then that is not a bad deal surely?
Cos it's not so cheap that it's a bargain.. and that's what this is about. BARGAINS. And 9-15 days shipping on a non-bargain makes it even worse.
Ok, then how do you define a bargain? You accept that the Fishpond offer makes these books available at the cheapest price. It does so temporarily so why is not a bargain?

On a $20 item, is saving $0.01 a bargain? How about $0.10? $1.00? $2.00?
How about we create a website called www.similar-to-other-retailers.com and post them there as well. Could be a good idea.

I don't like this deal - I looked up other retailers, and they weren't selling for the RRP either. So 50% off from the RRP, while others aren't selling for the RRP anyway.. I dunno ;)
And some of the books are "Usually ships within 9-15 days"
