    Follow the Dyson instructions and rinse it. Make sure it's completely dry before reinstalling.
    I visually inspected mine and it looked clean. But when I rinsed it, the water was very dark.

  I usually tear the filter apart to get a better clean. Works better than just rinsing it.

  I take it out and hit the soft part against the wall until no more dust comes out, then I use a garden blower to blow it out, hit against the wall again, and then it's pretty good tbh…
