      Trust. Reliable. Safe.

        Rock, flag and eagle.

    • Ive actually had a good time with all the stuff of theirs Ive purchased.

This is 80+ white; so its at least rated.
      Newer ATX spec….

      Really, it looks perfectly fine.

      If we assume its a rebranded 650W to snag the big psu boy sales;

46A on the 12V rail honestly isnt bad.

  • What's the attached equipment warrenty? /s

How does this fare as a grenade?

    • +1

A bit big for a grenade but perfect for an IED

    • +1

Too unstable, might explode before you successfully toss.

  • Going into the listing shoes no ratings for a 700w model?

  • +6

One place you shouldn't cheap out on is the PSU.

    • +1

That is a lie that has been said so many time that became a true.

      Nowadays people buy a 750w for 350w system….

      • +1

        100X this.
I'd have built over 400 systems in my lifetime, probably more.

Remember back to the P4 days; we're talking stock ratings of about 100W.
Add in a geforece4, a few sticks of Ram, and the 4+ case fans that got popular thanks to trying to manage heat, then run it all on a 300W "came with the case" PSU.

Funny thing about PSU's, they have standards to meet.
They're REALLY obvious when they're about to fail or are over-stressed.
Spikes will trip the overload protection, sure, but if you're pulling a nice 295W out of a 300W PSU, you'll hear much more whining and see boot issues.

I still agree you don't cheap out on the PSU, but this is a name brand, with an 80+ white rating, and an honest spec sheet (notice they tell you the TRUE 12V wattage, AND the lying TOTAL wattage).

It's not going to be the one you want to run at 100% load 24/7, but if you're in the sweet 40%-80% load area, you're going to likely have a perfectly pleasant time.

The Cheap is in bold for a reason lol. I definitely would not pair these with any new expensive parts. But they will work just fine for budget systems / older P's :)

    • +3

My older P needs a lot more wattage to get up and running these days, are you sure this will be enough?

      • +1

How can he answer if this PSU will be enough wattage for parts you haven't specified and since when is it the retailer's job to tell you that.

      • I'm not 100% sure if it will be enough for your exact system, but obviously if you have any issues we are more then happy to help refund / replace it with another!

      • +1

Use some jumper leads from your car battery to give it some extra juice on start up and make sure to rev the engine too. Lol

    • +2

I definitely would not pair these with any new expensive parts.

Should this warning be on the webpage of this product? You know, to like, warn people that didn't read this post on Ozbargain? :\

    • +1

      i love honest seller

  • +4

Why would you even bother to sell these things? Certain products, like unreliable and ungraded PSU shouldn’t exist on the market.

    • Pretty much to catch out first time builders trying to fit a build to their budget

  • +5

How does anyone even know this is unreliable? I had a Shaw PSU running for 10 years+

Has anyone had this model of Xigmatek PSU die on them before, TitanTech are you insinuating you have a high RMA rate for these models?

    • +3

The reality is that this PSU is not any worse than other similarly priced power supplies. Xigmetek makes fine water coolers and power supplies and we have never actually had one returned. They come with a 2-year warranty and an average life span of 50,000 hours.

The only reason I would recommend not using this with high-end systems is that they do not have the same efficiency as more expensive power supplies, they may have shorter life spans, and obviously have a shorter warranty.

For 49$ this is a great value power supply from a company that has a decent track record in the budget sector. Perfect for budget builds, office PC's, or essentially any PC that doesn't have a 3070/3080/3090.

      • Sounds about right. Everyone creates drama around shit for no reason seriously, because it's not 80+ platinum and 1000w nobody should use it…we are showing our first world faces guys. I've had to RMA an RM750X, does that make Corsair shit all of a sudden?

        • With a psu it's not just about if they fail, it's how they fail.

I'm not sure on the exact design of these, but just say they use a zener for protection, but for some reason the voltage nudges into breakdown and you get this massive current spike hitting your gear.

The psu is your barrier between 240V and <12V. OP is right here. This psu may be great for a $350 second hand computer, but you'd be nuts to pair it with a new PC.

          • +1

@incipient: I agree with your points, but let's be honest, do you think everyone that's commenting "oh no haha this is rubbish" have looked into what type of overcurrent protection they've employed? They just see it cheap and not Corsair or another big brand so jump on the bandwagon.

    • +2

      Agreed.

My theory is it's their 650W rebranded to catch the "buy more than 650W" crowd on reddit.

If you assume it IS that model, its got very good specs for the price. VERY good.

Actually; nope. Rated higher on 12v rail too.

      Nice!

  • Safe to have this on a PC that runs 24 hours a day?

  • @Titan Tech

do you have a price at which this becomes free shipping? could use a few of these.

    • +1

We can give you free shipping on 4x units or buy 8x and you can have the 9th for free :)

  • +2

Great price. Too many people on forums making claims like "cheap PSUs will explode… cheap PSUs will fry your components etc" Most of these people are simply inexperienced. They probably spent an unusual amount of hours watching youtubers "how to build PCs" vids and would have built maybe one PC in their lifetime. It's just a computer, get over yourselves with your dumb advice. A 700W 80+ power supply like this one will perfectly suit any mid range PC, stop scaring people away from products just so you can feel better about spending $200+ on some platinum rated 1000W PSU because you already fell for that BS.
