What did it say when you followed the link in the deal?

If you don't have anything useful to say better not say anything!

Plans put on hold by COVID-19 border restrictions*?

Don’t worry – we’ll help you out. You’ll always be eligible for a credit voucher for the full value of your booking if your domestic or international flight is cancelled or affected* by border restriction changes. You’ll then have a year to use your credit on another available flight or across multiple bookings.

Depending on the circumstances, cash refunds or free changes to flight dates or times might also be available. Ts and Cs apply. See below for details on how to access your credit voucher.

*‘Affected by border restrictions’ means any Jetstar flight that is scheduled to depart to or from a destination, during the period of restrictions or within seven days of travel where the time period has not been defined, that:

can’t be accessed due to border closure or lockdown impacting travel between destinations listed in the booking
would have been a gateway for onward travel that can no longer go ahead because of a border closure or lockdown impacting travel between destinations listed in the booking
has introduced different quarantine, entry or testing requirements to when the booking was made
has restrictions in place that would require you to quarantine before returning home
has restrictions in place that would require you to quarantine once you’ve returned home.

You’ll always be eligible for a credit voucher

        That's ridiculous.

If you pay for a ticket and they cannot provide you with the service you paid for, they should give you a full refund…

        • If you pay for a ticket and they cannot provide you with the service you paid for, they should give you a full refund…

They have not said you are not entitled to a refund if they cannot provide the service. They actually state you are entitled to it depending on the circumstances:

Depending on the circumstances, cash refunds

Out of the circumstances they are covering you for with their credit voucher, only the first two fall under "cannot provide the service" - they cover you with a credit voucher for plenty of things they don't have to:

has introduced different quarantine, entry or testing requirements to when the booking was made
has restrictions in place that would require you to quarantine before returning home
has restrictions in place that would require you to quarantine once you’ve returned home.

It would be entitlement to think you are entitled to a cash refund when you dont want to travel as you have to spend 2 weeks in quarantine.

          Any Antarctica flights

In response to above, looks like you need to pay $100pp to allow you to cancel the flights (Flex option). Standard fare does not include free cancellation.

Not the cheapest, I managed to book flights a month ago from melb to uluru for $40 return.

    • Now that’s a good deal!

    • +14

do they land on top of Uluru

      • +3

No they open the doors as you fly over the top. As long as you remembered your parachute you should be fine.

          Just aim for the bushes

    • You got ripped

    • Oh wow how did you manage that!

      • I have the club membership and these sort of deals go on sale for members before they go public

  • sounds like the normal price. They seem to have just combined the prices for both flights and put that as the airfare for just leaving.

    • -2

      Nothing is normal anymore.

  • So in the case of free return, if the return flight got cancelled, how much credit/refund would we get?

    • Probably the same as any normal cancellation. When my Jetstar flight a couple of weeks ago was cancelled they sent me a link to book the next available flight for free.

    • If you choose credit, you'll get the cash amount you paid.

The airticket prices very expensive to everywhere now… before Covid normal price to Hamilton Island was 220/pp and now above 300.
So 151 to Hamilton Island in October not a bad deal from theme… if we can travel.

These days you flights are so cheap anyway, you should look out for accommodation and experience offers first and then book airfares after you found a deal on them.

Got Perth to Mel return for $209 + add ons.

I've never flown this route for less. Thanks OP!

  • Chances of grand stand viewing at F1 in Melbourne (in November)? What are people's thoughts?

  • January dates for Sydney to GC were working earlier, now loading an internal error.

Anybody have any luck with similar dates/route?

    • Ignore, all working. Good prices for school holidays

  • Booked for Gold Coast in Jan. Thanks.

Thanks OP, just got return flights to WA from SA for $336 with all the options. Good enough for me.

    • Is that for 2?

I'm seeing a heap of flights for $175 return.

      • Nope just 1, could've had it for $164 total but needed more luggage, date change option, all options, etc.

    • -1

      With qantas it’s $330.

      • Its actually $478.00 but thank you for your concern on my financial well being.

        • I should have mentioned $330 price is between 1st aug to 30th Sept.
