it's a membrane keyboard for those wanting to know what type keyboard it is.

    • For someone who's new to gaming keyboards (myself and my wife), is there a place to go where you can get a feel for a few different types, to see which one you like?

Plenty of computer stores with keyboards to try

Harvey Norman have green switch razer keyboards with a try me thing on it, blue switches will be almost the same as them.

      • try your local pc/parts store, they normally have some peripherals put out for you to test.

if you wanted to spend a little money you can also buy key testers online, but when there are free offerings at the cost of petrol and time (you obviously weigh up which if more economical for you).

i prefer non clicky keys personally like the cherry mx red mechanical key, or the cherry mx speed silver. some people like clacky noisy keys with a noticeable tactile click when you press it, like cherry mx browns and blues.

having said that, there are now also a lot of other brands. Razer do their own mechanical switches as do a bunch of other companies.

Corsair brand keyboards seem to be pretty well built and go on sale often, they use Cherry MX brand keys, they are my preference, but its all subjective and one brand is not always better than the other in all cases.

good luck, its a bit of a rabbit hole.

here's one example of a cherry key tester, it doesnt plug in to anything, its basically only to test physical feel and response.

Got this at $65. Very pleasant to use, looks great, not too noisy. Good find OP

  • do JB pricematch Amazon?

    • Never, they will say only match with the shop that has physical store.

      • +1

This is not correct according to JB's policy. JB Hifi will match online, but online prices must include delivery: https://support.jbhifi.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/360053193014…

They can't be grey or direct imports (unless otherwise sold by an authorised Australian reseller) but this is Razer's Australian Amazon store.

As always though with individual stores, YMMV.

  • These are nice keyboards and feel very good to type on. I just wish Razer's support for Mac was better.

  • Does anyone know if you are able to remove & replace some of the keycaps on this keyboard? Thanks :)

  • Great keyboard , used it for about 5-6 weeks now. Very nice and good RBG lighting

  • Seems OOS now, but still in stock @ Mwave $59 free C&C or + Delivery
