@ln28909: No, but you have fun with that. Bye!

                        • @jasswolf: lol, mr smart one, maybe do some thinking beforehand next time

@ln28909: I'm not the one simultaneously complaining about resolving details while declaring 4K useless, I'm the guy watching the other poster bounce around the comment thread while going red in the face.

                            Enjoy your weekend?

@jasswolf: Lol, yeah made heaps of money on chia so why not

If you read what you wrote in the initial comment and what I wrote maybe you'll understand or maybe you're just deflecting so other can't see smart people like yourselves turning red

@ln28909: You went on some enormous tangent, and then wanted me to deliver a better price on a largely-discontinued product segment in a lull period before mid-year sales.

Lol, yeah made heaps of money on chia so why not

Can you please put that on a t-shirt, so people automatically know to avoid you on the street? Thanks.

                                Bye!

                                • @jasswolf: you shoot down a product for being cheaper and superior in user experience, calling people using this monitor not smart, then proceed to say that the price is expensive and failed to produce a cheaper price, and yet i'm the one being unreasonable

i hope you feel better some other ways, as i would hate to have ruin your weekend

                                  • @ln28909: Just chiming back in to let you know you're now stating your opinion as fact.

But sure, I'm the arrogant one. Are you ok? Do you need someone to talk to? You should probably go call them.

                                    • @jasswolf: and you're stating your opinion without any personal experience with the product but rather from reading books, ah yes very wise

                                      • +1

@ln28909: I'm using the 4K Dell swivel model right now, and I've used 1440p IPS monitors before. From a resolution perspective (and for motion resolution at 60Hz), the 4K is superior.

Wisdom would have lead you to not trying to flaunt the kind of prosperity a 7 year old could accidentally earn.

                                        • @jasswolf: so never use it side by side with a 1440p 144hz like i specifically mentioned, so reading books

                                          and you ask man,

                                          enjoy your weekend?

yes, my weekend was great because it made me lots of money. i think that's a pretty fair reason to be happy

if you don't wanna know, next time don't ask

                                          • @ln28909:

so never use it side by side with a 1440p 144hz like i specifically mentioned

Yes I have, but I'm going to prefer the 144Hz because of the motion resolution, but that's not what was being compared by me, ever. Right now it's next to a 1080p 144Hz TN monitor, so higher motion resolution than what you're likely describing.

                                            so (just) reading books

yes, my weekend was great because it made lots of money. i think that's a pretty fair reason to be happy

                                            What's the opposite of wisdom?

                                            • @jasswolf: Once again

                                              im going to prefer

love people that tells other what to do from what they read from books

And I don't know you're the smart person remember

        Sure you can. I run a 34" 144hz with a 27" qhd oc'd to 90hz using cru. Sometimes I even add a portable 15" 4k monitor at 60hz if I want a dedicated music/video screen.

        • You can't run it as in your eyes die when you have to use them side by side , I used to have that and it was a pain with the mismatch in scaling and crispness

  • Thanks! Grabbed 2

  • Got 2! Thanks :)

  • Thanks OP! Got one :)

  • Bought 2. Reviews look pretty decent.

Has anyone managed to use them as Dual Monitors with Macbook Pro without too many dongles and converters?

  • +1

Can anyone advise if this or the 4k one would be better suited as a 2nd monitor for a surface pro 5. I currently run a full hd monitor as a 2nd screen - but it is a pain, the scaling isnt right, and requires a specific order of logging in etc each time I reconnect the screen. Ideally I want it to look like the surface pro screen (which is 2736 x 1824), but it can output 4k.
Sizewise - 27in works for me, no bigger. and not for gaming

  • Noob question. We have a new Macbook Air M1, and I'm wondering what additional cables I'd need to buy to connect this to the Mac?

    • +2

This should come with a hdmi cable, so you'll need a usb-c to hdmi adapter. This should work but I'm sure like you can find something cheaper

      • Thanks mate you are a legend!

I have two of those monitors. I bought them in the middle of pandemic and use them to work from home. They're great monitors for the price, however, one died less than 6 months after purchase. Dell refused to replace it with a new monitor. Instead, they gave me a refurbished unit. The replacement has newer firmware and is calibrated differently (based on exact same menu selections on both monitors).
Dell customer service was below all expectations and it took more than a week to get a replacement, numerous phone calls, escalations and emails. So, if you need great support, then, Dell isn't for you. I know there are people with different support experience, but my first and only experience was horrible. My golden standard for support is Apple. Nothing comes remotely close!

    • Well you can probably factor at least one total replacement at cost price within the retail markup of an apple product..

    • Apple support is pretty good.

Perhaps you should get an Apple monitor next time.

    • +2

With apple pricing you've pre-paid for the platinum support package and complete device replacement.

      • +1

yeap apple products are overpriced for a reason

also need to pay for apple care
and forget about third party repairs (which are cheaper)

  • Not sure what the issue was here? Dell replaced your monitor and seems to be working fine is it not?

    • +1

The monitor was less than 6 months old and while they initially agreed to provide a new replacement, after much trouble I got a refurbished unit. I never had a monitor that died so quickly after the purchase.

      • I don't understand what's the issue with receiving a refurbished unit if it functions perfectly well?

  • This or xiaomi?
I don't game, and price is not a issue.

    • If price is not an issue how about a U2720Q?

      • Price is not an issue? Apple pro display.

6k of glossy calibrated goodness. Your eyes would cry tears of orgasm.

    • Do you want a 16:9 or ultra wide monitor?

Xiaomi is really targeted for gaming.

There's a deal on the Dell u34 which I guess has better color compared to the xiaomi sans the 144hz.

  • Bought one.
Can someone suggest a budget mini pc to pair with this monitor, please? Just for essential task, Microsoft office and assignments.
    No gaming…

    • if that is all you are doing then
just get one of them sff dell 9020 deals posted on here

      • Thank you šŸ™šŸ½

  • Pulled the plug. As long as it doesn't die on me in the next two years, I think it'll be worth the price.

    • someone said one of theirs died in 6 months

      good luck

  • Bought one to pair with my s2721dgf, thanks.

How does this compare to the Kogan 32" QHD ($289 + post): https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-32-qhd-ips-freesync-75hz-ā€¦

    • For 32" you probably need to go with 4k resolution.

      • +1

… or you could just increase the distance by 20% and it will look the same.

The Kogan needs a wall-mount or arm, but the Dell DS models have a nice stand included.

        • It replaced a 24" on a display arm, and also came with a stand (although it looks pretty flimsy, and I didn't try it) …

Maybe I'm getting old, it looks good at the distance my 24" was away from me - about 60cm away …

      • Thanks - it's actually stuck at 1080p due to an issue with Big Sur …

  • I bought 2 of these. How can I connect both screens to the one laptop?

  • My graphics card supports G-Sync but only has 1 DisplayPort 1.2

Does anyone know if I was to buy a Dual DisplayPort 1.2 Adapter, will G-Sync work on both.
Didn't know if this was possible or I would need a card with 2 x DP?

I saw a review on these monitors and the guy was running G-Sync even though it isn't officially supported.

  • If you have ordered from a Dell Alienware PC recently they will send you a $100 off after 21 days of delivery, Which can bring this down to $150.54

  • Can these be mounted to a monitor arm mount?

    I have the 2721d

2 day shipping was pretty good..

  • Got mine delivered this afternoon. Dell service is top notch.

  • Got mine delivered today.
Already set it up and looking good.

  • Would anyone recommend some new colour settings for this model?

  • For WFH 2x these or opt for 24 inch instead like the S2421 model? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/620280
    Comments/advice much appreciated!

Iā€™d go 2x 27inch (this deal) for productivity if you have the desk space. These 1440p monitors with the adjustable stand are great bang for buck.

  • I bought the Dell Aurora desktop package which came with a 1080P Dell 27 Alienware Monitor - AW2720HF. I am thinking of using selling that screen and getting two of these instead. What are these screens like for gaming? Should I just keep the Alienware screen?

  • Available again (thanks zangetsu)

  • Hi, not sure if it is a setting, but I have 2 x S2721DS monitors.
When I shut down, the power light flashed off on very slowly.
Anyone else see this on this model and know how to stop it?
