Any free shipping for over 2kg?

    • +2

It's only $8 on already super cheap coffee, cut them some slack haha.

  • +3

The last batch of this coffee was divine IMO! Just ordered again, thanks OB!

    • +1

WOOOOOHOOOOO thank you truly for the terrific order and wonderful compliment, it's going to be hard to top that :)

    • I just got 2kg instead of 1kg because of you. Don't you disappoint!

      • +1

        Well I ordered 4kg… I’m committed (and very alert😁)!

        • 8kg? Anyone?

  • +1

    Roast date?

    • +2

Nice question, we always send out super fresh coffee, usually within less than 48 hours of roasting, you can see the roast date on the top banner of our site before you order :)

      • Nice one!
        Ordering now.

        • That's terrific, thank you so much!!!

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Damn I missed this one ! Didn’t notice the email you had sent. This was Devine last time I tried 😀 hoping for more deals

  • +1

Please put the actual sale price on the title, not the usual price.

  • Any information on how dark the roast is?

    • +1

I'd classify it as a medium, this one is a little closer to a light roast than a dark roast, but still has enough development to pull a delicious espresso. Any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask :)

  • Trying it for the first time and I hope it's good. Literally the same price to the $18/$19 half price Vittoria/Lavazza we are getting from Colesworth.

Note to new buyers. The 500g bags are more expensive so I opted for the 1kg bags.

    • It's so awesome that you've decided to give us a shot, thank you so much, we hope you love our fresh coffee!

I really appreciate you sharing the "note to new buyers" bit for transparency. We roast and pack orders on demand, the 500g bags will be an additional $3 per kg (this accounts for the discount) to cover the time, labour, extra packaging and labels. 1kg bag/s is the default option, so you'll only be charged the extra $3 per kg for 500g bags if you specifically select this option, this will instantly change the price on the screen for you to see :)

The Moments to Memories blend is absolutely delicious. One of the nicest blends I have ever come across.

I am keen to try some of your other beans too. How would this Single origin compare to the Moments to Memories one?

    • Thank you truly for sharing such positive and thoughtful feedback, what an awesome compliment!

I really like the sound of your message, coffees a wonderful thing to explore, even better if you do a bit of research before you explore…Speaking of research, here's a copy of how I compared this delicious SO to our Moments to Memories Blend in a recent email:

"If you've loved our Moments to Memories blend, you'll sure be in for a real treat with this one, it tastes as if Moments was blending with our recent SO from Peru and Colombia. Out of all the Brazil coffee we've tested, this one is sure showstopper!!!"

  • +2

Which grind do I select for a stove top moka pot? Espresso option I assume?

    • Spot on, perfect assumption :)

      • Thanks - ordered :) Look forward to trying it

        • Fantastic, thank you so much, you order is really appreciated by the team, we hope this terrific SO is a real hit for you :)

  • Hey OP, any chance of the other varieties getting added to the code (Decaf?). Wouldn't mind having some for late night coffees. Cheers

    • +2

Nice question/suggestion, we've got something in the works for a decaf deal down the track…in the meantime feel free to go ahead and place an order today via deal code for the total quantity of fresh coffee you'd like, then please sent us a follow up email and we'll go from there to sort out your last night coffee needs :)

      • Legend, thanks! I'll put in an order for 1kg of the single origin and a 500g bag of the decaf. Enjoy your Friday :)

      • +2

Looking forward to the decaf deal! Got too much coffee right now unfortunately, but will definitely jump on the decaf deal when it comes up.

  • I see a lot of people really like these coffee beans.

Any Breville Smart Grinder Pro users out there?
What time and grind settings is best to extract double shots?

    • Double shots as in to use with an espresso machine? I personally use 17 which is probably a bit courser than others but it's my sweet spot for a good black coffee.

For any other plunger or cold brew I use 60.

      • +1

        Yeh espresso machine.

I usually find that a grind setting of 14-15 @ 17 seconds for a double shot works well and then I'll adjust the settings for new beans accordingly.

I just don't like wasting the first few shots of beans to find that sweet spot!

  • I wanted to order 2kg but I didn't want them to age at home since I'm the only drinker in the household. Ordered 1kg as usual in 500g bags. This is comparable, if not, better than the beans I used to purchase at twice the price.

    • Just freeze the other bags, lasts ages

  • +1

any way to get free shipping?

  • I loved the Peru single-origin last time, hope this is just as good.

  • If I order 2kg, do I get one 2kg bag or 2 1kg bags?

EDIT: I somehow missed there's a whole drop down that tells you this, it's 1kg bags, or pay a bit more to get 500g bags

    • +1

      Great question!

You'd get two 1kg bags and if you selected the 500g option you'd get four 500g bags. Feel free to fire off any more questions :)

    • Nice edit :)

  • Are any of the bags the resealable style?

    • Nice question, better safe than sorry, all our bags have a resealable zip lock :)

  • Not sure why 3kg is removed from the option albeit I can have the same by putting 1kg+2kg in the cart?!

    • Great observation! The 3kg option has been replaced with a 4kg option. When we ship 3kg, 1 of the kgs is not as snug a fit as the other 2kg, so we have a new size of satchel to allow for 4kg which a snug fit. Of course, as you've mentioned there's still the ability to mix and match as you please :)

  • how long usually is the postage to Sydney?
And can I opt to buy now but request the coffee to be sent for example 1 month later? (I still have some left over coffee to be finished before)

    • Based on recent experience 24-48 hours, of course there are exceptions to this rule. You're welcome to place an order today and add an order note requesting delayed dispatch :)

  • Thanks OP. Not missing this one! Really appreciate how engaged and responsive you are on here.

  • I'm on my second batch of your coffee and it is just great.
Works really well with my ROK.
    Thank you!

  • +2

Ordered a kilo… Look forward to trying it.

Fyi for everyone that doesn't want 1kg bags, buy a large jar of moccona or Nescafe, dump it, and store your extra beans in there (and in a dark cupboard). A large jar takes around 750gm total, leaving 250gm for the hopper.

    Cheers

    • You can always buy an airtight container.

      • Good idea, but for $45 I can get 3x jars of moccona haha

        • Moccona jars don't seal well and is not opaque. I store my extra beans in a zip-lock bag (double seal) and then in a old Tupper container.

      • I highly recommend Fellow Atmos containers for the beans you're currently drinking. They're not cheap but I reckon they live up to the retained freshness claim better than airtight jars alone. If you buy good beans, you might as well pay to enjoy them at their best all the way through to empty.

  • +3

I actually found this very lacking in flavour. I tried different grind/quantity/extraction time combinations but just couldn't get a decent shot. Finer grinds chokes the espresso machine (>11 bar), and with slightly coarser grinds (9-10bar) the extraction goes "blond" after about 10s. Not a criticism, just wanted to share in case anybody else has a similar experience, and could have some ideas

    • What grinder and machine are you using? From the description it sounds like a light-medium roast so espresso would be hard to make well with this. The grinder step change might be too big to dial in the shot properly. I'm considering trying to make aeropress with this but 1kg is a lot to go through if it doesn't taste good..

      • +1

Breville grinder pro (BCG820) and dual boiler (BES920). The graduation on the grinder is pretty good, and I can get the classic 30ml/30s (@9-10 bar) extraction.

        • Thanks. That's not a bad home setup.

        • +1

can have a fair bit of retention of the old grind size with that grinder. Be sure you're purging. Otherwise find your closest grind setting that actually works and adjust by using yeild

    • Are you referring to the Brazil Peaberry SO @LoungeLizard?

      • Yes, I got it the previous time it was on special. I normally roast my own but ran out of green beans so thought I would give it a go.

    • That's what worries me…haven't had these guys but have not had great experiences with single origin coffee. Coffee commonly gets blended to gain the profile benefits of different beans/origins.

    • +1

I agree - I've been playing with a variety of variables on my BES920 with bottomless PF & Niche Zero grinder, and struggling to pull a shot that has much flavour using 18g in at 1:1 ratio between 20 -30s with 7s pre infusion depending on the grind. Also tried both 2.25:1 for long black, 28s out for 18g and also lacking. Open to suggestions!

      • +1

If it’s a lighter roast, and you have already tried all the other variables, have you tried pushing up the water temp to see that impact on extraction and flavour profile?

      • I believe 1:1 is ristretto, 1:2 is "regular" espresso. For "long black" has to be "faster" than espresso.

  • Is shipping $7.99/$8.99 per the banner at the top of your website or is there a threshold to receive free shipping?

  • +1

Ordered a kilo to try. Had been ordering from Single O Killerbee blend but been mucked around a few times with incorrect and long shipping.

    • We really appreciate you giving us a shot, thank you truly for your order!

Fingers cross your shipping experience with us was a smooth one :)

  • +1

Ordered 1kg .. about the only you'd save by buying colesworth stuff is the shipping .. but coming from retail i know what shippit costs so not much can be done there for small businesses … happy to support them over colesworth when possible :)

    • -1

      Why u not Aldi?

      • +3

well same thing.. massive corporation, but i try to support smaller roasters when possible.. so far i haven't run out of beans to need Aldi or Colesworth ones hehehe

    • Thank you so much for your order, support and thoughtful comment, they all do really mean a lot to our team!

You're spot on with your shipping comments, hopefully there'll be a company soon enough to create a perfect cost/efficiency shipping solution. That said, comparatively speaking among the current options Shipit does a good job :)

  • -5

This comment is about expensive Coffee in general…..

Lets be honest about this one. Is this flavors all just made up?

    Score = 86/100

Aroma = Cinnamon, Maple Syrup, White Peach & Jasmine; smells like brekkie in the garden

    Sweetness = Honeysuckle Nectar

    Acidity = Pink Lady Apple

    Type = Canario-Peaberry

Who is giving these scores? Is it like the Oscars where the stars give themselves awards? ;)

  • Never tried it before, which one is the strongest of the 2? Also any chance to get free shipping?

    • Just spotted this :)

      Two quick questions:
      1) What type of coffee do you drink?
      2) Do you like your coffee to be closer to chocolate or fruit?

At present it's not viable to offer free shipping. The only was to do this is to lower our quality (which we don't want to do)
or increase our prices (then it's just semantics resulting in "free shipping" but people pay the same total order price). If we offered free shipping on the current quality and prices during any of our deals, we'd lose money on every single order, have to close down and that wouldn't be good for anyone :)

  • +2

got it 2kg to try… No, I am not addicted to coffee XD

    • +1

How long would it last? 1kg of Aldi beans last me 3 months!!! I am cheapo. Where is my OZB shirt….

      • +1

for me it's about 1.5 weeks per kg for 2-3 cups a day.

        • Damn man, I hope you throw the coffee grounds on your garden. The snails will love it.

        • Doesn't add up. That's 100g of coffee for 2-3 cups??

      • +1

I believe 1.5 months a kg… because I only take it in the morning at home.

    • +1

Wow thank you so much for placing such an awesome order with us, sounds like you're all set for a coffee party :) :) :)

  • +5

Btw, love lime blue coffee for offering delayed despatch as i can get the fresh beans delivered when it's about time to run out current stock while getting the discounted price.

    • Woot woot love the comment, thank you so much for your continued support, I'm so glad to know our system works perfectly for you!!!

I prefer coffees that have a chocolatey taste/aroma with milk, what is a good choice?

    • +1

Great question, better safe than sorry..!

All our current coffees on offer would tick that box for you. However, if your not a fan of coffee that have a bit of a fruity kick to them, them I'd recommend you stick with our Moments to Memories Blend or this terrific Single Origin :)

  • +1

    Just ordered 2kg, cheers!

    • That's awesome, thank you truly for your order, it really does mean a lot to the team!

  • +1

Just sent you a delayed order for a future roast if that's ok!

I'm very happy to know you thought our last one was "very very good," fingers crossed we're 2 for 2 :)

  • +2

Last batch was A-grade. Excellent in espresso and milk based coffees. Make sure you dial in the grind though, peaberry, at least the ones I have tried can take a fine grind

    • Woot Woot "A-grade," what an excellent compliment, thank you immensely for the wonderful feedback too, I'm very happy that we're in your good books!!! :) :) :)

  • +6
