    any Bargain 85" out there???
    Was $3200 at Costco few weeks back. (Cant remember Brand)

    Cheaper at $1380 from Appliance Central with free delivery (at least to Metro NSW/VIC, possibly others). Been this price for a bit now.

    • +1

      Also seems to be free delivery to inner suburbs of Brisbane, but not all metro areas.

      $160 for delivery to my address while it's free one suburb over. TGG price is cheaper if you're not covered in the free delivery area.

      • Even cheaper at TGG now (see my comment below).

      Cheaper at TGG site now with MAYHEM code ($1345.50). 5% cashback with CR too.

    bought this for $1200

    good bang for buck size, 4 HDMI and interface is quick to navigate no lag at all, switches on quickly from sleep (few seconds), does 4k60, sound is decent even without soundbar.

    However screen is delicately attached onto the frame, just be careful while unpacking or mounting

    no complains generally this is a good all rounder for the average user. i turn off smooth motion feature.

      Can you comment on sport/gaming? hows the motion handling?

      • +1

        i've only tried gaming, as mentioned i turned off smooth motion as some of the guides suggested and havent experienced issues with it, it's bit of a personal preference, personally i couldnt tell the difference with it on and off and there's also gaming mode on/off which i havent tested.

        • Thanks for the reply! Do movies look? Worried there's a lot of blur in fast action etc

          • @Mortgagetightass: It has +100hz motion rate, you won't see any blur in any fast action clips, at least in score FIFA

            • -1

              @pzhon: It's 50Hz, fake 100Hz.

              • @Yanoflies: my bad. If it is only 50hz, I will say keep it away if you want to play any sport games and watch quick motion movies

                • @pzhon: What's the point in higher than 50hz, when most movies are not higher than that anyway? And even consoles don't output higher than 60hz. You're not missing much.

              • +1

                @Yanoflies: Sorry, dumb question, you say 50Hz, so no display 4k@60hz?

                • +1

                  @spriggan43: If does 4K60 it's 50/60hz like all TVs that don't support 120hz (HDMI 2.1)

                • -1

                  @spriggan43: Power Supply range [Voltage / Frequency ] Volt / Hz: 100 ~ 240V / 50, 60Hz.

                  People get the power supply mixed up with panel refresh rate. Australias electricity is 55hz and see the specifications are between 50-60hz.

                  The panel refresh rate is 60hz.

                  • @mckayver: I don't think people are getting confused with the power ratings. The smooth motion rate is usually double the real refresh rate.

                    • +1

                      @reloxation: nobody manufactures 50Hz panels. The TVs in Europe and Australia are still advertised as 50 and 100Hz, though, but they are all native 60Hz or 120Hz. They use the 50Hz mode to display free to air TV broadcasts. Australian free to air is broadcast at 50hz so double that for smooth motion is 100. If you're feeding it a 60hz dvd it will smooth motion 120hz.

                      Once you feed them with a 60Hz signal, like from a games console, PC, dvd, etc the TV will automatically switch to 60Hz.

                      It would be stupid to make exclusively 50Hz TVs these days.

    Cheaper on goodguys website with MAYHEM code its for $1345

    Looks great but postage is what blows it out price wise for me. First World problems. Feels bad man.

  • As far as I know, there’s still no Disney+ app. Probably not a dealbreaker for most people, but something to consider if it’s important to you (or just factor in using a seperate box for at least some apps).

  • What's the user-interface like on these latest Hisense TVs? I've bought a number of Hisense in the past, but the UI has always been the weak point. For example, on my current Hisense, the program guide is extremely slow to populate and it's almost impossible to access show info.

    Had this since boxing day, use it with a nuc as an all rounder browser, youtube, netflix, etc.:
    HDR works well and while not top tier it’s better than the price paid.
    Can’t comment on gaming as I haven’t used it for that.
    HDMI CEC isn’t as compliant as the Samsung I replaced it with (lacks customisability) so ended up disabling it.
    Onboard UI after updating to the new version (released after my unit was shipped from factory), I find it quite nice to use, is fast and arranged well.
    Tldr: cheap and cheerful screen.

    • awesome! how do sports or fast moving action look? most complain of motion blur/artifacting

      • +1

        Can’t comment on sports, but I disable the “enhancements” and use game mode and haven’t noticed any obscene ghosting or judder.

  • when will the tu8000 go for 1k again, i bought a q7 hisense few days ago and cancelled order cause the review after a friend of mine told me he had one and had to return it due to the judder issue. so i cancelled it, im still in the market for a sub 1k 65inch tv. leaning towards Samsung tho, tu8000 which has been as low as $980 last month or the new updated version au8000 which sold for $1175 last month

    • The Q7 is vastly superior to the TU and AU series… The judder is just a setting calling motion clarity which everyone always disables.

      200 dimming zones and and 120hz at 1080p

      Vs the Samsung 50hz and backlit no dimming

      • on paper the hisense does sound better as I have first believed, its actually only 60hz panel not 120 and it has 96 dimming zones, (not very good ones at that, the algorithm does not do a good job there is blooming). but ive read and watched more reviews after my purchase and even with motion clarity disabled I've read that the judder can still be seen, however idk if you know but the au8000 has the new processor which I believe is superior to the hisense and the fact that there is no panel lottery with samsung even their budget lineup tu au
