Not sure it's a part of the Frenzy sale, but that's a historically low price on this Huawei router. What's make it pretty interesting is its seamless support for G.hn for backhaul connection between individual stations. Reviews are rare but positive.

I currently use Tenda MW5c-3 in bridge mode (i.e., as a mesh of dumb WiFi access points) and it works quite well. But as a home networking enthusiast, I couldn't help myself and pulled the trigger on this one, just to try it out at the very least 😎

Wait…so this is essentially EOP and a mesh system combined??? How have I not seen this before, sounds brilliant.

    • That's why I bought it. Not everyone lives in a cabled house :)

Also, it appears G.hn may perform better than HomePlug AV (which is more popular, e.g., it's used by TL-PA9020P kit). I really want to try it out and compare.

I had the Chinese version of this router pack, bought 2 years ago from China for about $230.
    Pros
1 versatile connections, I used 2 packs on one old house, using G.hn, stable connection all the time, speed depend on the length of the power cable, I even use the extension cable to extend the connection. Use the last one on another house, connect the centre router with cat5e, so the 2 houses share the same NBN connection(100/40).
    2. WiFi seems stable, coonect over 20 devices at the same time, nobody complained about dropout or low speed. WiFi used only for access not mesh, so enough band width.

      Cons
      1. Old gen WiFi, same speed as Google mesh and tplink mw5.
2 when change AP, not seamless, especially when you are downloading.
      3. Mine need a Chinese Huawei account to config.
