  • its very good find, rhys !. Even Ryda says it is below cost for them to supply for 328$ ! (In addition to 40c discount)

  • Very interested. Just over $200
    Any one recommend this one?

    • I ordered one just now. Need to pick a card from woolworth first as i didnt have earlier and called DSE to get this offer.

  • Looks good

Too bad Everyday Rewards is not run in Tasmania.

    • I got a spare card. If you really wanna this unit. I can send you my card number. Cheers

  • Just got off the phone with DSE customer service The "Store Profile" link above takes you to dse.com.au. This deal is only through everydayrewards.dse.com.au. Go to http://everydayrewards.dse.com.au to buy

    • I called 1300 366 644 (Given at the terms and conditions page) as the card i bought today at woolies was not updated on the website. He took the order over phone. He said this product can be ordered via the web or the phone.

    • Yes the Store Profile link is about the Store, i.e. Dick Smith Electronics. The link to this particular deal is always the image right below the main title, way above the fold.

  • Interesting thing about this everydayreward card on the news:

Woolies' new card will trail shoppers
    http://www.smh.com.au/news/technology/woolies-new-card-will-…

    • Retailers have been tracking consumers' spending habits for ages with loyalty cards such as FlyBuys, MyerOne etc. Woolworths just takes it to the next level by combining the loyalty program with a credit card. But this has already been done by Myer with the Myer Credit Card.

  • The Everyday Rewards number entered is not valid. Please email [email protected] with your Everyday Rewards number, First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Email Address and our Customer Service team will endevour to respond to your email within 24 hours of the date and time of submission.

I have tried 2 cards that I got today and two cards of other people and none of them worked yay!

    • i had same issue, so ordered over phone. I thought this may be due my new card activation period is short and may be their site (DSE site) not getting info sooner about the card.

  • Thats what I thought until i tried two other cards that were established cards. Thanks I will call them tomorrow :)

  • order placed over phone this seems like a great deal :) 8 hour battery life?

    • Upto 8 hours, so not always i think (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134&pID=398#specsTab)

The guy who took order said on wednesday, i will get email about shipping, but didnt receive the email till today. Calling the number and on the phone, but the same time courier came and delivered it.

Order on phone saved 20$ on extended warranty then the website.

  • nice one, i should have got that but figured for $228 i will take my chances :) feel free to do a mini review IM EXCITED!

  • apparently the oz version does street name, please let me know if this is the case or just numbers?

    • Played little with it. If i go to corner of my building, it gets GPS reception which is pretty good. Yes, the australian voice announces the street names (on demo mode, i confirmed).

As I used tomtom earlier (and still on my PDA), this american model is vastly different. Need some learning curve for all features, may get some disappointment too on missing some of the tomtom customization features, But very happy with bluetooth calling with my PDA phone. It doesnt support SMS on my model, but rest all is good.

      Doing the map update now.

the reason i went for additional warranty is, this unit definitely not expected to last for 5 years, and may be not even serviceable, so i may get refund from insurance :-p

  • Just got off the phone with Customer Service at Dick Smiths and the Everyday Rewards member number check now covers all numbers. My wife's number now works…just bought another one for Dad for Fathers Day. By Dad I mean me…LOL

  • so how is it performing? i hear some poeple prefer the extra features of tom tom but i dont think i notice that being a gps nub

    • i feel like tomtom and garmin are like windows and mac (not in any order). this one got very good signal reception - but could be same with tomtom too being sirf-III, map is very latest, trip monitor is very nice one. Can play audio while driving and it automatically manages the direction along with music and i connected the audio to my car Aux input which is great. Phone answer via bluetooth is great and works perfect with my pda phone.

Overall, the price is great here. If tomtom sells at same price, and got same features (spoken street names - which is common on new models of tomtom too, music play while driving - not there on basic models, good battery life - they are not there yet, bluetooth handsfree - only high models), may be tomtom is great due to display customizable.
