Whats the Latency like with TENCEL?

Let me try to ping google with it right now.

    • Supposedly 5G's millimetre foam technology was secretly developed by governments as a weapon to threaten and control people.

I've had an Ergoflex for almost 2 years now.
    I highly recommend this mattress.
Due to commitments I sleep some nights at my place, other nights I sleep away on an expensive but spring + gel top mattress..
There are times I have considered buying a second of these mattresses just to have one at both places.

    • Can you comment on the effectiveness of the "cool-sleep airflow system", and whether it sleeps hot?

      • +1

I have one. It’s a load of bollocks really. It possibly would be cooler than a similar mattress that doesn’t have that layer. These are warmer than conventional mattresses. There are some ways to make them feel cooler like the Tencel cover (when I bought mine they didn’t have that. I got a Tencel protective cover.). They’re also really heavy and awkward to move or lift.

Having said that, I love mine, but I’m in Tassie where nights are never too hot to sleep.

        • Thank you wfdTamar.

I'm in Tassie as well! :-)

Yep, they are heavy and awkward to move, but there's something nice about it feeling planted to the bed base. I have the Koala Bed base which is rock solid (no screws so no squeeks)

I find it isn't as cool as a conventional mattress, but much cooler than the last mattress I had which had a gel layer on top. I found that gel layer to colapse under the weight of my body and restrict the transfer of air to any part of my body that made contact with the mattress.

It really is worth giving one a go. There is a 1 month sleep guarantee, which while isn't as good as others like Koala and SleepingDuck, it is certainly long enough to decide if it's right for you. And I think this is a better mattress than the other Mattress in a Box brands.

  • comparable to Tempur ?

    • +1

Not quite. I think it is a bit softer and does not mould to the body quite as much. But still a very good mattress.

      • It's interesting that you say that. We have a King we got about a year ago and prior to that (5 years ago) we had a queen version. I noticed that the newer one we got is a bit softer compared with the older Queen one we had, which was definitely firmer (maybe more comparable to Tempur?).

The King one we have now is still quite good though. No complaints other than I'd prefer the firmness of the old one. They took a while to get stock back in for my order, so they ended up throwing in one of their $100 waterproof fitted sheets for free which was neat. It's a nice sheet but not sure I would've paid full price for it

        • I normally use a Tempur, but we have 2 Ergoflex mattresses in the house, one an older generation, one a newer one. Yes, I think the newer ones are softer.

Tempur also sells those waterproof fitted mattress protectors for a ridiculous price, but nowadays you can buy these for $20 on eBay, with Bamboo fibre coating, which is what we have been buying. No difference in quality to the Tempur one.
