Also, not sure when this coupon expires, best guess is 31/01/2012, based on HUKD.

To clarify, these are £15.70 as per Cost £13.75 and Shipping £1.95. Exchange rate used was just the google search one

Enjoy

The Koss Porta-Pros are also a good option if not a better one.

Head Fi Review {C6}

The only reason I didn't mention them was because they weren't discounted from their normal price and $5 is still $5 more than the Sennheisers ;) The Koss ones aren't known for their noise isolation and hence not useful on public transport( use IEMs silly)

    Wow, great price.

  • +1

There's at least 199 in stock

    • There's now 41 left [HD201]
      199+ for Koss Portapros

  • +1

    any good reviews?

    • +1

Great sound quality for it's price, is what I'll say (I've listened to them before)

    • +2

They are pretty much the best you can get in this price range.

  • +1

This will go great with my $199 netbook, but you should also consider Koss PortaPros if you don't mind leakage or zero isolation.

    • +1

Hahaha, the $199 netbook comment again.
Having personally experienced the HD201s, they offer unbelievable sound quality at this price.
Haven't heard of the Koss PortaPros (well their sound quality anyway) but they're apparently quite good from reviews.

  • +22

LOL. OzBargain is making me spend more money rather than saving me money.

    • +3

      Yes. The opposite

    • +1

      This is OzBARGAIN, not OzSaving

  • +7

Damn! after conversion $23.25 - lost 10 cents (become suicidal now)

  • +1

    Too good not to get!

  • +2

Good deal, i think o-works has sold them for $25-30 in the past. mymemory is good, ordered something recently, arrived in 7 business days.

  • +1

Even though they are entry level phones they have fantastic sound!

  • +4

also can get from Ozgameshop for $26.50
    http://www.ozgameshop.com/headphones/sennheiser-hd-201-headp…

If you combine with a game ie Red Faction, then take $5 off code, then game cost $11.35 (26.50 + 13 - 5 - 23.15)

Anyone know which courier MyMemory use and whether tracking is enabled? Any feedback on their shipping?

    • +1

bought some items from them and all arrived winthin 7 days

    • +1

Mymemory can't use couriers for 2 pounds!
      They just use normal airmail.
Items arrive generally within 2 weeks (my fastest has been a week and a half)

  • +2

I own a pair, these are the best and cheapest my ozbargain butt has ever bought.

  • I notice that there are so many FAKE Koss PortaPro around after I just bought 2 from www.mymemory.co.uk

    http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Overhead-Headphones/Koss/Koss-Port…

Can anybody confirm this is a legitimate source? Thanks

If they are cheap but FAKE, I rather pay more to get the real one!

    • have you really read other comments? or you just want someone to answer your question? i can confirm they are.

    • +2

Mymemory's an authorised sennheiser dealer, I doubt they would sell real sennys and go sell fake stock…
Source: I have an old email somewhere asking Sennheiser UK, or you can go email Sennheiser UK.

Haha, I really couldn't be bothered finding that (lazy!), but thanks issh :P

        • +1

Thanks issh and cwongtech :)I hope they are selling the real KOSS as well. I paid around $54 for 2 X KOSS Portspros includes delivery. The cheapest I found it here is $44 + shipping each. So it's bargain for the original KOSS.

I have friend who used to be working in he Hifi store said the KOSS would be a better buys for $27 dollars each including delivery. Some store still selling $100+. Anyway,

          Thanks guys.

  • Thanks, bought 2!

    • that's because you're a man with 4 ears.

  • guess it is in pounds?anyway to avoid foreign transaction charge by credit card?

    • +3

Yep. Get yourself a 28 Degree credit card: http://www.28degreescard.com.au/

      • Yep 28degrees. I think NAB Gold Banking Visa Debit might also be no fee.

        • May I know if there are any drawbacks in getting a 28degrees card? Seems too good to be true

        • The only small drawback with 28degrees card is a $2 fee for payback at Aus Post, use Bpay or set up direct debit to avoid it.

        • No points is only drawback.

        • I've found a few drawbacks with 28 degrees.

          1) The sign up process doesn't tell you how much your credit limit is that you're applying for. I had to call them up after I was accepted to find out what they'd given me.

          2) The process to get an increase to your limit was very vague (so as to prevent people gaming their system). So while I understand why they couldn't tell me specifics about how much I needed to spend/pay off to get a good 'transaction history' to back up a credit increase, it's been very frustrating.

          3) They don't have online instant transaction notifications. eg: with my st george, anytime my card makes a $20 or more transaction, I get an email. Very handy. No such feature with the 28 degrees card.

          4) If you miss a payment, you get a bunch of fees as well as interest. Recently they've started sending out reminder emails closer to the payment due date (in addition to the initial monthly statement), so hopefully that won't happen to me again.

As far as convenience, and ease of use goes though, for buying stuff online in foreign currency it's been a pretty decent card. I'm hoping it'll be just as good when I go overseas later this year.

      • thanks, i will probably just order from ozgameshop since my credit card will pose some exchange transaction fee on top of $23, nice deal btw.

      • +1

Have you checked whether 28degrees are simply building the transaction fee into their exchange rate?

      • Can't one just use PayPal and get them to do the currency conversion so you're debited/charged in AUD?

  • Thanks, just bought 1

What's so good about this, you know nothing this cheap is any good when it comes to headphones.

    • +3

Well sorry to say, it is.

  • +2

    I hate these headphones…

I just bought a pair of Altec Lansing in-ear ones and…now I want a pair of these! Everytime I use the AL's I feel like it's making me just a little bit deafer…

Definately an awesome deal :) Plus from me

Or as I like to say when I am using a decent pair of headphones 'It's like a party in my head and all my multiple personalities are invited' :P

  • +1

Wow, really tempting to get this. Used MyMemory before for Sennheiser in-ear earphones, received them in a week so no problems there.

  • What?!? Its freq resp range is (20-something( to -only- 18,000 Hz ?!?

    • +1

There is more to quality than just frequency response :) For the price I think these would smoke anything on the market.

  • These are excellent headphones, I own a pair and highly recommend for the price.
Nice price too, but I managed to buy mine from JB for $20 on sale a year ago.

  • Can anyone tell me how much they got charged for conversion fees?

    • $1 GBP = $1.45 AUS

      • i meant bank international conversion fees :p

        • Depends
Master and visa card charges 3-4%
So in this case, less than $1?

  • Anyone know how these headphones compare with Senn PX-100, I have px-100 and love the sound. Now thinking to get a second pair for spare.

    Thanks

  • Good price, but not the best headphone has no bass. for that much get some earplugs

    • +1

      Ah, a basshead.
He speaks half-the-truth, these are very very clear in the mids and highs but don't have the doof-doof that people buy the beats for.
But dude, it's less than $25

    • I have a HD437 pair (open) which is quite brilliant for the price I paid.

    • Yeah i'm using a set of these right now.. Bass is not great, BUT they do handle a bit of eq'ing, and that makes them average bass wise.

  • Anyone know if theres a store that would let you try the headphones out?
Price does seem really good, but if it has no bass…

    • Nvm, just tried them out at JB Hifi.
Some people on review forums said it has little bass, sounds alright to me.
      Which nong negged

      • It doesn't have overpowering bass, but it has a little..

  • Are these comfortable for someone that has a big head?

    • +1

great for your ipads from eglobal :)

      • Might give it a try. I usually use airplay and play everything via my home hifi. It's only when everyone is asleep that I occasionally use headphones.

        • jealous much, i am still waiting for mine. arghhhhhhh

    • Definitely. My head is pretty big, and these have been my main headphones for the past few years.

    • My head is too big for this building and it fits me just fine

    • +2

That's not where headphones go. …oh, I see.

  • +1

@ unity1. I have a pretty big head and mine fit fine .They would easily fit a bigger head than mine .
The only problem with them is the coating over the earpads a top have rotted away from all the sweating i do playing motor racing games ( with wheel) here in the tropics. They are better than the last set i had, can't remember what breed they were, where even the foam didn't last very long. I would get another set of the Sennheisers especially at that price.

    • Thanks for the feedback.

  • +1

I've heard the Koss Porta Pros are really good but I wouldn't be caught dead outside the house with them!

I've read/heard really great things about the Koss KSC-75's, which are a little more 'outside friendly'. Might be worth keeping an eye on them and hope the price drops a little bit:

unless you are going for the retro look

  • Good headphones, owned a pair for a year or two till i drunkenly stomped them. Now seems a good time to replace them. ++

  • 63 REMAINING!

    • Less than that now. How did you find out how many remaining? The only way I could find out how many was by trial and error in the checkout section.

      • +3

Set quantity to 199, then it'll either show 199, or however many is remaining.

        • K, thanks. :)

  • +2

Why does OzBargain make me spend so much money?

  • Most of the jb hifi stores in WA have these on display/demo so you can listen and try them.

Just so happens i tried them at jb city store yesterday morning and put them on my mental "must get list" and sure enough that night this bargain comes up!

  • wow only 38 left.

tossing up whether to get them from mymemory or ozgameshop……
anyone have experiences with both? whos faster or well packaged delivery?

thinking of getting 2 of these.. with ozgamehsop thatll come to $48 with coupon and I'm assuming faster delivery… is worth the extra $1.50 over mymemory

    @ bargrin and Jlove
are they really that good? I dont need lots of bass, but some bass is required for movies and such. They will be used at home for all purposed. Thanks.

    • I've used mymemory heaps of times, if they misdeliver, they'll refund it to you (in my case, the dispatch address got screwed up on their end, refund issued after using their livechat support thingy)

    • Im mainly using mine for music and movies at home too, I reckon it'll more than fine.
You could quickly visit JB hifis and test out their demos.

  • I received a confirmation email saying "All items contain a service charge of £4.50" at the bottom of the email, what is that? £4.50+£15.70?

    • Service charge is included in the price already..

  • Not going to press + to preserve the 69 - will someone do the honours?

    • Done

    • +1

It was the 'head size' thing, wasn't it?

  • +1

I actually find the HD201s pretty mediocre comfort wise. Pictures of them are deceptive in that they have the appearance of full-size circumaural headphones, when in fact the earcups are undersized.

Sound quality is certainly good compared to other $20-40 headphones, especially closed-back ones, but this isn't one of those instances where you're getting something that performs almost as well as more expensive products for a fraction of the price (I'd rate them maybe 30% of the sound quality and comfort of a good pair of $200 headphones).

Also note the HD201s are not particularly easy to drive - after I gifted a pair to my hard-of-hearing mother to assist with watching some DVDs which had a low audio level, they were actually insufficient at the TV's highest volume level. They have less volume than my 80 ohm DT250s on the same output, so something's a bit odd with the HD201's 24 ohm impedance figure, apparently.

  • got one, 23.85AUD for me

    Similar price at amazon.co.uk - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0007XJSQC/ref=s9_simh_gw…

EDIT: Ignore this entire post…free shipping deal has now finished :(

    • +1

I thoughtfree shipping was dvd and books only?

    • Damn, it finally finished a few weeks ago. They'd been pushing the date back on that promotion for over a year.

  • Gave in…bought a pair.
