Seen cheaper prices for the same specs with Asus and Acer but the LG gram is a lot lighter at 1kg and comes with a significantly larger battery at 72Wh.
The extra 200 bucks may be worth it for those that need the bigger battery or lighter weight.

Man that 17 inch model being only 1350 grams still blows me away.
I got the 17 a forntight ago, its fine. But at nearly half the price the 16 is a no brainer imo. The resolution is the same.

I had to get an older model from the states. Well worth the money with the better exchange rates back then, but still love the laptop to bits.

Yeah, Sony tried that. Everyone started complaining about burn-in issues because computers are full of bright and static elements which just kill OLED pixels.
I've used OLED with a PC for a few years and haven't had any issues.
Admittedly a small sample size though.
OLED is the best screen out. Burn in is a thing of the past with all the new pixel shift anti burn measures.
The wait is over. There's an updated XPS 13 OLED available for purchase now.
Samsung also recently released a competitor to the LG Gram line, the Galaxy Book Pro and Pro 360 with OLED displays. They're not available locally but can be ordered through Amazon.

@cille745: IPS panel is inferior to OLED panels. Brightness, blacks, size, resolution, viewing angles, refresh rate. Ect. Look at tv's, mobiles, watches ect. It tool Apple years to switch to OLED in mobile devices. Now they see OLED is the best panel available.
@cille745: You've posted in multiple deals that burn in is cumulative. That's like me saying, Hippos kill the most people on earth every year. IPS is much more likely to fail. Dead pixels are a very common issue on IPS panels.
@Wizard: I've never said that OLED isn't the best available at the moment, because for a lot of applications it is, I'm just saying not to spread misinformation that burn in is a thing of the past. While a lot of users won't run into it for the life of the TV, those who use it as a PC screen most likely will in a few years time. The pixel shift technology is only there to prevent minor image retention, not burn in.

Not sure about this one. But when I got 1st gen LG (2015 model) and it had a single RAM slot, so pulled the original 4gb ram and put 8gb at that time). It will be quite disappointing if they went with soldering now.

There is an LTT video on this and it shows that the build quality on the 14 inch gram to not be so good. The deck flex is really bad
I think I watched that video and iirc correctly he said that it had a bit of flex to it but overall he considered it to be pretty solid.

When did LG start selling in Australia? I remember trying to get one 12 months back when I updated and would have had to import one from the US. Definitely on the shortlist for next years update!
I honestly was pretty surprised to see that LG was selling in Australia too. My best guess would be they started selling ever since the Intel evo range launched and they were one of the few laptops eligible for the criteria so they decided to start selling here?

How did you do a price match after the LG website was back to normal prices?
it was still working yesterday at around 2pm Melbourne time and i picked up the last one. i could see they have removed the product in question from sale on the LG website.
After a days worth of research I have concluded, that yes, I would like to buy the LG Gram 14 for $1260. Looks awesome. The 256Gb is the only borderline feature for me.
Can't pull the trigger on every deal without due diligence!

it's actually not that big a machine, compared it with my 2015 Macbook Pro 13.3' and it's barely bigger, like 20-25% bigger perhaps.
Yeah it's an appealing laptop too. (Looks like it'll come to $1529 with PLUSES10). Not sure I'd buy from there but cheers for the option.
