Was looking for an indoor Smart Camera to watch my dog while I'm at work and couldn't find a good deal on the older Nest Indoor IQ cameras.

This KC400 is the new Kasa model which I don't actually think is released in Australia yet, it's the first model to do 2K and looks to work perfectly with Google Home/Alexa.

A lot of you probably already have the Kasa app due to the ever so popular Smart Plugs and from what I've read these cameras work great within the app.

I guess it may come with a US plug though I think it's micro USB to USB so can easily use a different plug (or US to AU adapter).

  • is this battery powered?

    • Micro USB. Can use a powerbrick and then have it only turn on with motion detection which I would imagine save battery. Otherwise would have to wire it in (which is what I'm planning to do).

  • Solid camera. But a few from jb. Use them as outdoor cameras. Held up well in the rain and picture quality is a ton better than my eufy.

  • how does this compare to wyze cam ? wyze cam is a bit cheaper I guess

  • I’ve seen the price way lower at JB HiFi. I own two of these, great camera to monitor pets.

    • Was the lower price for the new 2K KC400 model?

      • Ah good point no it wasn’t

  • Anyone know if they will release a similar version for the Tapo system? I'm currently wedded to that system from TP Link…

  • Reading the reviews on Amazon, one person said if using MicroSD card you can only record 24/7 continuously not when motion/sound is triggered which is disappointing.

I have the Eufy indoor camera 2K which is ok. The app is great, lots of features and accessing videos is quick. The audio is not so good, cannot hear sounds or conversations clearly. And the video is clear within 3m but further out degrades. And the video is not clear when capturing motion. If someone walks past, pause it and zoom in on the face it's all blurry.

If any knows of a better indoor camera wired to power let me know.

  • How about Tapo C310 for Outdoor?
