    Thanks op, bought 10

  • Never had the brand. Reviews on ProductReview are quite bad (2.1).

Any flavour that is worth trying?

    • +4

      I like the peppermint one.

    • +1

      Peppermint and Rocklea road

    • +5

They are incredibly good imo I would try it at least once.

        • +1

You do realise its the same chocolate? The ones from the DL stores probably tastes different because its a little fresher. We have a factory outlet near us which regularly has fresh blocks for $1 a pop (some might be underweight blocks or clearance)

    • Peppermint and liquorice are nice

    • +2

As a big fan of chocolate, I don't like any of their flavours…
Their chocolate tastes 'cheap', if you know what I mean..

      • I agree, I like Whitaker's and toblerone if I want a bit fancy

    • -1

They are not the best quality chocolate.

    • +2

      Dark chocolate liquorice…the best

    • -1

IMHO I prefer this over any other chocolate… Do yourself a favour and try the raspberry rocklea road.. You won't regret it!

      • Ugly. Seriously

    Are you challenging me?

How dark is the dark chocolate? Keen to try some

    • The Dark chocolate to me is quite mild, maybe tastes like a 50% strength.

      Got some yesterday.

      • Great thanks. I normally eat 85% ones, I guess I'll have to pass

        • +1

Yeah wouldn't be close in taste, we get the 85 & 90 ones from ALDI which ain't bad for the price.

        • might as well eat dirt then lol

  • +1

Lindt 100g all range half priced at $2.25 at the same time.

    • Nice, I'll order some lindt ones

  • When does this expire? Perfect to buy with a small shopback bonus

  • I love their Fruitier & Nuttier blocks but I have not seen them in any supermarket shelves for last 6 months or so. Hoping that it comes back!

  • Missing the best glavours

    Gold Coast road trip
    Teddy Bear hug
    Sydney harbor bridge fireworks.

  • thanks OP bought the whole box!

  • Thanks

Anyone actually like these? They're terrible. Tried once and never again. Much prefer cadbury at half price

    • +1

      Yes, over here thanks!

I loaded up using the $10 off $100 discount.
For me the limit on Rocklea Road Raspberry was 24 (but I don’t like peanuts).
Now to plan my click & collect exit strategy with 50 blocks of chocolate…. πŸ›’

Missing some of the great flavours, Fairy Bread, Bear hug, Bondi Block, Sundae Sesh. But incredible price, and one of my absolute favourites. It’s not the chocolate itself, but the candy etc embalmed within the chocolate block that makes this chocolate block.

    • I've tried the liquorice and the milk bottle ones, the texture of the lolly parts inside is so wrong I couldn't eat it lol.

      • What about Sydney Fireworks and Gold Coast Road trip?
        They are my favourites.

Fortunately my local drakes had them on special anyway for $2 but think they are going on clearance.

  • +1

These are great. They don't scrimp on the filling and the chocolate is decent.

  • Chocolate taste is obviously a personal thing. I find this tastes cheap n nasty. Almost as bad as compound chocolate. Prefer Cadbury or Nestle (though they’re not great) or Aldi (coffee and cream). We have a pathetic range compared to what you can get in Europe.

  • The peppermint and black liquorice varieties are good, red liquorice not so much, the liquorice is harder and so seems staler than the black.

But I agree with some of those above, the chocolate isn't as good as I remember, it has more of a lardy taste and mouth feel instead of rich and smooth.

Darrell Lea was purchased by Heritage, but Hertiage doesnt taste the best. Im guessing thats probably the reason, cheaper manufacturing and maybe higher fat content.

      • Heritage is an awful, poor quality brand if they are the same company behind the reduced chocolates at Big W. (Great price).

        • yep Heritage are very bad, but I've had worse.. fake chocolate brands from a supermarket in China :P

  • +1

Worth noting that their chocolate is now palm oil free, has been since late last year. Maybe those saying the don't like the taste should try it again

  • Also on special at Coles & Woolies for $2.50 each if you can't get to a BigW.
