Might be a good deal but Atmos doesnt need "special" speakers, any speaker in the roof is ideal or any speaker firing upwards works, just not as well, so before you buy for Atmos, forget Atmos and buy a good speaker cheap which can be stuck on the roof which may well be these except if they are sold as "Atmos speakers" and I am sure Onkyo knows better but consumers do not. Maybe these are great but labelling speakers as dolby atmos because they are designed to fire upwards is wrong. Stick any speaker in the roof that would give the proper Atmos effect with an Atmos capable receiver and media

This reads like a recording of your brain activity.

      • Looks like you disagree with my statement..at least that is what your statement seems like .. you are welcome to buy it , what is the comment for ?

      • I would strongly suggest waiting till tomorrow before buying this but it is your call

These should be titled as Atmos enables speakers. Designed for people who can’t or don’t want to install speakers in the ceiling.

You are right, any speaker can do the job,
However, you need to place something to angle it right to the ceiling for the bounce back. These are all in one solution but over priced for what they are.

  • Thanks I was at checkout screen and just read this.. hmmm

  • 1.2 kg for spks you hang on the ceiling and that have spring clips

whos buying this nonsense for $349???

even $149 is kind of dumb knowing what little you get… ie. china made chipboard and vinyl laminate

These don’t go on your ceiling. You’re thinking of the in ceiling speakers. These are used to point upwards at the ceiling to reflect sound off it.

Reviews indicate that in ceiling Dolby atmos speakers sound better but will require additional effort for installation. Then comes the elevation type and this type.

Can’t find any other speakers at this price range
