    I do like the ultrasonic and uses it myself, however if anyone is interested, the oscillating/rotating brush e.g braun/oralb is better at the actual brushing job than ultrasonic per:

      There's plenty of studies and anecdotal evidence and opinions to support both types. Having used both for at least 10 years each I will always choose the sonic over the oscillating ones but each to their own.

        also the sonic has some pros..

        -less gunk maintenance due to having no gaps in the brush head..
        the rotating one will require regular thorough cleaning of those gap.

        -the rotating one also can catch the tongue easier due to the gap in the rotating head..
        so not a fan when this happens.

        I have used both and prefer the sonic one.

      the oscillating/rotating brush collects gunk underneath it's brush head whilst these sonic ones won't so there would be more hygienic and less cleaning maintenance…
      also the oscillating/rotating brush can catch your tongue or inside cheek etc.. due to the head rotating and there is gap there..

      Also whether one is better than the other..
      I say both are very good and would not have too much of a difference in cleaning..

      It just depends on how long and thorough you are using it when brushing..
      and which on you prefer..
      I could never get a good clean with the oscillating/rotating brush due to it keep catching my tongue etc.. so I prefer the sonic better..

      So I would not depend on that link you posted as conclusive proof
      and even if it was it would be very minimal difference..
      and both would still be better than a manual toothbrush.

      how long did the screen take to fail after you bought

      that is no good with these screens tech on the brush
      if it fails then it is as good as dead..or less useful if you can't change the settings.

      Might as well get a simpler no screen version.

    Can anyone tell me honestly about the gunk factor using these? I have a popular oral B that died and I'm looking to get a new one. The oral B one was disgusting though - due to the design of the head which had holes for springs or whatever toothpaste would go moldy in there no matter how many times I rinsed and dried it or how I stored it. The next electric toothbrush I buy I want to have no open sections of the head for this gross stuff to grow. It's really hard to tell from the pictures as there are no close ups of the brush head - do these collect gross stuff too?

      these have no gaps in the brush head unlike oscillating/rotating brush ones..

      so it is same a as toothbrush in terms of cleaning..

      The main gunk that would be collected would be the gap under where you can take these brush heads off which would be 1/3 below the top of the toothbrush ..
      so at least that gunk would not be going into your mouth unlike oscillating/rotating brush ones
      You can clean that gunk whenever you want.

        Thamk you this is just what I wanted to know. I detach, rinse and dry heads so bottom gunk doesn't worry me.. But that inside gunk on my oscillating head is just so skeevy!
