It's about the action of the rod, these are extremely good rods for the price. Squid to whiting to bream to flathead to snapper and pinkies, pike, snook and everything between.

anything you'd recommend for a 12 year old kid? He's quite tall about 158cm.
Abu Rayrex, Veritas, Raider. These would be the best bang for buck under $200.
Above that would be a TD Black, Zodias, Millerods, Zenaq ($300 -$700) most would opt for a Zodias with Vanford ($700 setup with braid)
Best rod under $200? Whilst a decent rod, not even close in that price range. Daiwa Infeet considerably better, or Samaki Zing G3, or Atomic Arrowz all better at around the $150 mark, but this is a typically $100 rod if you haggle so no need for the hyperbole.
