First post..

Based on the most recent post, seems like $1,690 is the 'acceptable price' for Size B/C Aerons now. Click here for recent post for reference https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/603740

Have been eying for a Aeron chair size B for ages and noticed Badbacks are doing free delivery (to postcodes 3000 to 3765 and 3802 to 3977, as per home page) and have Size B in stock.

I've got slipped discs at my lower back. I've lived with it over 20 years. That's the chair I have at office. However I've got no idea why such a pricey chair can make my back feel worse.

    • Because it was designed 20 years ago and doesn't support the way we work today (laptops, phones, different movements, etc). Their newer updated model might be better, but I haven't given it a try yet.

    • I’ve got the remastered Aeron and I think the mesh can sag over time. If it’s not supporting your weight, the mesh can be a bit too worn out

    • I had the Aeron for many years and ended up selling it for exactly the reason you mentioned - sitting in it gave me a sore back.

I replaced it with a second hand Steelcase Think which I picked up for a couple of hundred bucks and its exponentially better.

    • I've experienced the same! I had this at office and worsened my lower back pain. I thought it was just me.

could it be a replica aeron? i have seen some offices furnished with replica furniture

  • It's $1690 at living edge + delivery for a total of $1750… so this isn't a must-buy at this price

You could regularly pickup the original Aerons on sale for for ~$900 - what is it about the 'remastered' version which makes it worth almost twice the price?

      • I only ever saw them once at $900, ever. It's not that these are changed all that much at all, just new pricing to reflect what people will pay these days.

define regularly? Never seen them for that low. I got mine for $1000 about 5 years ago.

Not really a deal as this is normal price. You can pick up in showrooms for free equalling the $1690

    • 100% agreed! This is not a deal at all.. this is NORMAL price

  • I need a deal for headrest

Living Edge had a warehouse sale this weekend and a fair few of these were sold for $1310 each. They’ve gotten more expensive over the last couple of years - my non-remastered was $900 brand new from them. They also had half a dozen or so of base spec Embody for $1400 each.

If you're down in Melbourne it's inconsequential for you anyway, it's up here in Sydney only.

hmmm, I feel like you told could have told us this pertinent information earlier…

In other news I forgot to post on ozbargain in 2009, bitcoin is 2 cents per coin, probably a good buy as it will likely hit 100k each in 10 years

Spoke to Living Edge this morning.

Warehouse sale stock comes with a limited warranty. Nothing like the 12 year warranty on non-warehouse stock.

There will be a sale coming up prior to EOFY.

        • Do you have any details on the sale? Will it include the Aeron?

        • Will the Vitra Polder be on sale? I am really keen on this sofa and when they were doing the last warehouse clearance I missed it…

  • Got excited when I saw this deal then I saw the price and realised it wasn't really a deal :/

    • Same.. been waiting for an Aeron to actually go on sale for a while

      • only been 3 years since the last sale (according to OzB). fingers crossed for the sale comes for 2021.

I thought some could benefit from at least free shipping lol

        • Nah thats fair enough mate. Really hurt seeing all the recent sale for Steelcase was so tempted to pull the trigger on one of them but I have my heart set on the aeron

  • does anyone have any experience with aeron vs leap/gesture?
