    • $200 - Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur (One Way)

$95.57 - Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne (One Way)

      • It's says $47 kl to melb one way not $95.57..?

        • $47 is excluding taxes….

  • cant find return $95.57 anywhere, mind sharing the dates you've locked in?

  • Nice when's the travel period? And expiry ?

  • You have to select ONE WAY for each destination, not return as in two transactions. Worked for the first week of June. $300MYR KL -MEL.

  • and check if its incl fees and taxes.. air asia notorious for keeping this a secret until you pay. Thats y ACCC been up their ass lately

Waiting for a deal from Syd to Kuala lumpur

hehehe - would you feel comfortable flying with Air Asia to save a few bucks? - I looked them up and following is quoted on Wikipedia "It has the world's lowest operating costs at USD 0.035/seat-kilometre in 2010" - presumably then the lowest maintenance costs too?

Been flying Air Asia and MAS economy recently and they are pretty much the same except for the price tag. But nothing reflects cheap quite like Tiger Air.

      • +4

The same here, flew with them multiple times in SE Asia and they were great.

the SEATS are small and uncomfortable, but i have absolutely no problem with flying AirAsia.

it's run as a budget airline, with a low operating cost - but that doesn't mean they are necessarily more or less safe than any other airline. there's more to safety than operating costs.

At least we haven't heard of any mid-air issues with them as frequent as we hear them from Quantas who has outsourced their services to cheaper places.
It's true that they have small seats and less leg space in trying to put more seats in the limited space. That's how they make their money.

This price is a good deal from them but not as good as those $99 each way they had a year and half back.

        • 2 weeks ago there was a deal for syd to kl return for about $170.

  • ok dw the trip is $247 all up both as one way trips.

Make sure to convert the curresny back to AUD for the one way trip from KL to melb :)

    THANKS!

  • Gold Coast has similar pricing in May for $252 Return (once you do the conversion from myr to aud), very competitive pricing.

Seats are really uncomfortable, but you get what you pay for, I ddnt feel any safety issues, meals are good if you pre-booked, everytime I travel, I decide not again, but again every time I seea deal like this I couldn't resist myself

  • really cheap! i paid $600 return last year.

That's what I've been waiting for!

    Booked - MEL-KL-MEL x2 people in June - $637 total - separate one-way flights + 20kg checked in baggage.

Now the hunt for hotels and flights KL-(somewhere fun in Asia)-KL begins :)

    THANKS A LOT!

      Go to Langkawi, awesome Island!!

      • Thanks for the tip, sounds good :)

  • The saving compared to SYD-KUL flights are less than the cost of a Tiger flight SYD-MEL (for the dates I'm looking at anyway), so I'll thank them for opening up the SYD route. Not so keen on doing redeye flight/sleep-over at the airport.

  • I booked my tickets a few weeks ago from SYD-KUL for $712AUD for two people .. and .. KUL-SYD for 678MYR for two people..

All up it was something like $920 for two people return and that was in the peak season..

    • Just want to add that the total price was including all airport taxes and allocated seating, meals, etc..

  • Update:

Perth to Kuala Lumpur (One Way) - $170 AUD
Sydney to Kuala Lumpur (One Way) - $180 AUD
Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur (One Way) - $199 AUD
Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur (One Way) - $200 AUD

  • I guess this is suppose to be their "Celebrating Our 100th Awesome Plane" sale,

  • Is it cheap to fly from KL to BKK?

    • Around $50, and that is very cheap in my book. :)

  • FUUUUUUUU! Someone just stole my 399RM seat in July! >_<
Wish I can take AL in June, some awesome $274 return combos still around… :(

  • Thanks OP, booked tickets for the family to go to KL in June last night. Had been watching fairs to Asia for months and this deal was so much cheaper than anything else going. Under $1700 for 5 to go Melb to KL return with upgraded luggage and meals. Now to start researching holiday spots.

    • My choice is Ko samui- i got 2 flight KL to surat thani for $30 a couple of weeks ago.
From airasia- Today is our inaugural flight to Surat Thani, Thailand from Kuala Lumpur! Explore lush virgin forests of Khao Sok National Park, dine on freshly caught oysters worthy of kings, visit the Wat Phra Tat or Srivijaya Pagoda, or you could live the life on the beautiful Koh Samui island!

  • I tried to look for the promotion fare from Melbourne to KL at AUD200 one way at air asia website since last week but it is not shown. Do anyone know whether they will remove the offer when it is fully sold out? I called up their call centre and the customer service staff doesn't know.. grrrr. I was hoping to book cheap fare for travelling in May 2012.
