Indie Bundle for Palestinian Aid (1,272 Items from 865 Creators) - US$5 (~A$6.81) @ Itch.io

34532

I was waiting for this since I heard about it on Reddit. I have had many hours of enjoyment and inspiration from the Racial Justice bundle last year. Bundle of 1000ish things, games, soundtracks, assets, TTRPG, tools, etc. Haven't looked closely enough to unearth any real treats yet but for under seven bucks Australian for the couple of hours wading through weird TTRPG rulesets will be worth it for me personally…

Edit: The creator of the bundle has posted to Twitter there will be further additions "next week", so if you were on the fence about the value of the inclusions in the bundle it might be about to get bargain-ier!

Edit the second: More games and creators added. Deal remains great value for money!

Palestinian hammas " terrorist organisation" is firing rockets indiscriminately killing children and innocent Israeli. Stop funding terrorist.

    • +6

Seem to me people are allergic to facts here

      • +12

        Pot calling the kettle black?

        • +6

Which part is wrong you didn't get?

  • +4

Why leave the politics and war in the middle east when you can bring it right here to Ozbargain huh?

    • Why care about people suffering over there - when we can just buy another pack of eneloops huh?

      • +3

This isn't the place for it, mate. Just buying another pack of eneloops is EXACTLY what this board is for. If you want to talk politics find a political forum. Or are you saying that any time there is any kind of suffering, or perceived injustice, that means we should never enjoy any other aspect of life? Unbelievable! And yep that neg you got was mine.

        • Just because you want to live a shallow life in a little bubble doesn't mean we all do.

As others have mentioned, this is a good deal and offers some well reviewed indie games at a bargain price - so it deserves its place on the site on the basis of that alone.

If the charitable aspect for you is too much for your little heart and brain to cope with, just move on - and take your magic internet points with you, I really don't care about your negs.

          • +1

@poppingtags: For someone who claims to want to do good you sure know how to hurl abuse at people you know nothing about. Don't mistake hypocrisy for depth. Where do you think that bile you pour into the world goes? How do you think multi-generational hatred happens? How do you think it escalates? I wouldn't be talking about the "lilttle heart and brain" of others if I were you.

  • +4

Wow Excellent bundle.. Some great offerings here! Thanks,

    Some of my recommendations.
Skyrogue, minit, mini metro, soulsearcher, pikuniku, bleed 1 and 2

Shame about the bots and trolls trying to sabotage and derail things.

  • +3

Great job OP, great bargain for a great cause.

  • +5

The only winning move in religious conflicts is not to play.

    • +6

      not to pray?

      • +3

You've got to pray, just to make it today!

        • MC Hammer fans reprazent !

  • +2

I'm not a gamer but from whats stated and shown it appears to be pretty great value for money - maybe (as I tried to say in my 1st post) we should just assess the deal on the DEAL itself. Or is that too big an ask?

    • +2

You can't buy the deal without donating to the cause so you can't assess it as a deal by itself. It is too much to ask.

      • +9

We've been getting Humble Bundle posts on Ozbargain for years and they donate to charity. Don't see the issue here.

  • +3

I came for the comments and was not disappointed

  • +12

Regardless of whether you are Pro Palistine or Pro Israel, this post is very political and will divide people. This shouldnt even be here in Ozbargain. I dont like what ozbargain is turning into. This is not a 'deal' and should be in forums.

    • +19

Its a deal since you get a bunch of indie games/titles/content for 5 bux. The charity aspect is just a bonus.

    • +4

Politics entirely aside, it's an awesome deal.

  • +2

Does anyone know just how many of those 1000+ items are the same/double of the items from the last injustice bundle? Also what is up with the comments and negs? I thought this would be overall appreciated, as it’s helping support those in Palestine.

    • +2

Seems to be 237 titles with crossover. Check the following spreadsheet here. You can sort by BRJE and see the overlap.

  • +15

Great deal if you want to show up on a terrorism financing watchlist.

    Hard no from me.

    • +3

A watchlist largely comprised of gamers covered in cheeto dust and Mountain Dew spills is not a particularly useful watchlist.

  • +1

    oy vey

  • +1

No one is forcing anyone to buy it or donate.

  • came for political dump. not disappointed.

  • +10

OzB has sunk to a new low attacking Jewish people. Hamas is a terrorist organisation

    • +15

The only attack here is from pro-occupation people suggesting donating to Palestinians is supporting terrorism.

    • +7

The intent of the deal is for humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians. If you are unable to acknowledge that people on both sides of any dispute have a right to exist, then you're part of the problem.

      • +2

Both sides can exist, but both sides need to learn to SHARE.

The crux of the issue is not wanting to SHARE the land, ie. it's mine, mine, mine…because it was promised to me.

        • -2

the crux of the issue is the exploitation and promotion of racial hate.

australia is as guilty of that as the usa, Israel and palestine.

Hate fills this site, generated by huge financial interests.

    • Are jews only in israel?

  • +11

    Politics does not belong here

  • +14

There are a lot of embarrassing comments here.
Apparently supporting people who are displaced through no fault of their own is now supporting terrorism to the smooth brain brigade.

  • +12

    WokeBargain.

  • +8

Donate if you like to support terrorism

  • +11

A lot of this money will end up in the hands of Hamas. Not much point sending "aid" funds that will contribute to Palestinians continue to live under a terrorist regime.
This cause seems good on paper but when you look a bit deeper you realise these funds could do more bad than good.

    • If you think about this deeply, then even if the money does go towards food and shelter then you could be feeding a baby who eventually becomes the next Hitler! The best decision is to give the Palestinians nothing just in case!

  • +8

One can support the civilians of Gaza/Israel and be against war. Unfortunately it's a difficult situation in the middle east but I concur with other posters here, political deals only inflame and bring out the worst.

My neg isn't about the deal quality per say but rather the political framing of the post and anger caused by it.

  • +5

Instead of commending the deal, for charitable purposes,
it's easy to see who is just parrot / copy-paste talking points from mass media.

I like how the narrative has been hijacked to be "Israel vs Gaza",
and the gatekeepers & gaslighters keep calling it Gaza this or Hamas that,
but it's actually a country called Palestine that is being carefully eroded away,
first through language, which erodes it away from the mind and then eventually the maps,
    resulting in an "ONE-STATE SOLUTION".

  • +2

This is just hateful divisive rubbish and has no place within a close knit and mutually supportive community such as OzBargain. As a number of posters have pointed out, it has been proven with UNWRA before, that your money will likely get into the hands of terrorists that will lead to worse outcomes for both innocent Palestinians and Israelis. Any ethical, socially conscious person would give this a wide berth.

  • +5

Thank you, OP. Love this deal. 🙌👍👌✊👏

Here is a great video from Professor Dr. Norman Finkelstein who isn't afraid to speak his mind on the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0CulhsQkTA

  • +3

    Good cause. Thank you.

  • +4

Incase people want to know the truth on the ground.

    story link

From someone who was pro-Israel, who took in the media fed narratives, someone with friends on both sides who has actually visited the region and seen the reality.

      • +3

        Thanks for the share

        • +5

It is worthwhile highlighting the following parts of Shawn Duffy's FB post:

          • There are two sets of laws in Palestine. Israeli settlers are subject to Israeli civilian law and Palestinians are subject to Israeli military law. That is literally the definition of apartheid. You know what else that means? Even if the army was interested in protecting Palestinians from settler violence (as they are required to do under international law but often don't), they have to call the police. Yes. The army has to call the police.

          • There are two separate road systems in Palestine. One for Israelis with Israeli plates and one for Palestinians with Palestinian plates. If I need a taxi to go certain places, a Palestinian taxi can only take me so far. They will likely need to call another taxi with Israeli plates to meet us somewhere on the side of the road to continue my journey. The roads for Palestinians go through checkpoints and cars are often pulled over by military jeeps for harassment.

    Supporting HAMAS a terror group

    • -1

bit like our leaders tacit support of QAnon then…

'Marc-André Argentino, a QAnon researcher at Concordia University in Canada, said Australia could be considered part of a "five eyes" of QAnon — a reference to the intelligence sharing network between Australia, the UK, US, Canada and New Zealand.

All five countries are majority English-speaking, allowing messages to flow easily online. All share a similar political vocabulary, and all are experiencing the turmoil of a global pandemic.'

top security clearance of QAnon here - no wonder they had to redefine domestic terrorism…..it was politically required to insulate QAnon….

while the 'The FBI Declared QAnon a Domestic Terrorism Threat' our government accepts it totally…and rewrote our terror laws.

Cheers op. Great deal. For those supportiive of the Israeli criminal apartheid state, some required reading:

    • +1

While this is not a statement regarding this post (or the Israeli- Palestine issue/conflict) as I really do not want to get involved into a political discussion, from my work of helping international people in their quest for a better life in Australia, going by the definition of apartheid in the HRW article, I can think of a few western countries (including this one) where this arguably applies.
I really think is best politics should stay out of the deal section of Ozbargain at least (and ideally, move to a different site altogether as Ozbargain is not about political discussion) as it really polarises people too much, and in my belief, only leads to anger and upset between users here.
Have a pleasant and peaceful evening and weekend everyone.

  • +5

    It’s not a deal unfortunately.

  • +5

I'm personally very sad to see this divided political post on ozbargain it should not be there.

  • +3

Thanks OP. Love this great deal and the good cause.

  • +7

Hamas will cash in, build tunnels and stockpile missiles.

    • +7

All as planned. Next time funds are running low they will orchestrate another situation, launch some rockets at Israel, claim the militants that are killed in retaliation are civilians and watch the money from the suckers overseas come rolling in. It's a cycle that will never stop and countries and individuals that donate money are just enabling it to continue. Even Australian aid money was diverted to Hamas.
Very similar to the North Korea Strategy, get angry ruffle a few feathers with weapons test and obtain foreign aid and trade concessions.

  • Why does Hamas hate slush ice?

    It's a two-state solution.

  • +6

I refuse to support a ridiculous cycle where the Palestinians are pawns in Islams quest to re-take Jerusalem. Ultimately, that's what all of this is about. Israel isn't ever going to let that happen. So the cycle continues. UNWRA does its work in Gaza under Hamas gunpoint.

  • +3

    The UN is a rort.

    Free Palestine

    • +6

They first need to free themselves from Hamas.

      • -1

Hamas are alright. True freedom fighters!

        • +4

With this thinking, you'll never be free, the cycle will continue, parents teach their kids to hate, there is no hope.
People do not listen to those who scream and yell.
PS, Dutton was right all along.

          • +2

@kml22: Dutton appeals to those of lower IQ. He wouldn’t be out of place in One Nation
A quasi-demagogue (no surprise he is an ex-cop. Most ex-police & military are right wing, because they think complex problems can be solved with force)

          • +1

            @kml22:

parents teach their kids to hate

i think it's been proven in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq that drones and fighter jets and invasions are enough to get kids to hate. Hell I don't even live in Israel but I hate their entire existence.

            • +4

@Orico: You hate the entire existence of Israel? Do you also hate the entire existence of Australia, USA, UK, China, Russia, Iran, literally more than a quarter of the countries in the world?

To me that sounds like you hate the existence of Jews…

PS whilst you say you hate the existence of Israel, in practice you don't hate it, because if you did you wouldn't be using Israeli technology every day lol

        • -1

By the same logic it must make comancheros, brothers for life, hells angels all freedom fighters too.

  • +1

god bargain ( I mean good bargain) made even better by the usual fascinating garbage……blessed are the cheesemakers

  • +2

Free Palestine. 🇵🇸 Also a great offer!

  • +6

If I knew this was only going to humanitarian aid, maybe I'd bite. But yeah, can't say this isn't going to the guys creating the need for aid (Hamas).

  • +5

If you steal financial aid from poor people and use them as a human shield, they call you freedom fighters.

The people in Gaza live in poverty. 11 hospitals for a population of 2.2 million. Poverty rate 56%, Unemployment 50%, Schools: 85 per cent runs double shift.

One major source of revenue for Hamas is by stealing financial aid. 55% goes to military allocation. Only 5% goes to rehabilitation project.

27 million of Tax collection are mostly used to pay Hamas fighters and Hamas workers. They receive 20 million per month from Qatar. Millions per month from Iran and others. The money is not reaching the poor.

Palestinians are living in constant fear of the Israeli rockets and Hamas misfiring rockets.

    • +7

I recall when Yasser Arafat (leader of palestine) died he had a hidden fortune of hundreds of millions of dollars… all stolen from aid sent to assist palestinians…

Also, some may not be aware, but if you're a palestinian who commits terror attacks (ie suicide bombing) and sent to prison, you will get huge financial benefits for your family whilst you're imprisoned… This is where a big chunk of aid goes.

      • +2

Arafat died with hundreds of millions in Swiss Bank accounts. Abbas the current President of the PA also has millions stashed away. The leader4 of Hamas lives in exile in Doha, Qatar. He is has more money than Arafat ever did. They make their people suffer for the useful idiots out there. And none of those useful idiots ever dare question how Palestinian leadership treat Palestinians.

        • you can't sell billions of dollars worth of weapons to countries without setting up an enemy threat.

it might be illusionary but given time you can make it seem very real.

  • +6

There are so many insane comments here claiming that Hamas are freedom fighters that deserve support, just wow. To those who claim that Hamas are freedom fighters, this is a direct quote from the Hamas Charter…

'The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.' (Article 7)

    • +1

Oh damn Hamas must really suck. I wonder why Israel spawned them into existence.

It's funny that after the charter you're quoting was introduced, Israel continued to support and work alongside them to oust Fatah

Mr. Hacham, the military Arab affairs expert, remembers taking one of Hamas's founders, Mahmoud Zahar, to meet Israel's then defense minister, Yitzhak Rabin, as part of regular consultations between Israeli officials and Palestinians not linked to the PLO. Mr. Zahar, the only Hamas founder known to be alive today, is now the group's senior political leader in Gaza.

Coincidentally they also released Sheikh Yassin about a decade later, just in case they were lacking in religious direction. The Israelis are truly the humanists of the world :)

  • +1

So how many of these will give me a steam key for the game?
I dont buy bundles unless they have steam keys and if I wanted to donate money I'd just donate money.

    • +1

It says on the page "Please note: No Steam (or other external keys) will be given for bundle purchases. Only direct downloads will be available on the itch.io page."

  • +1

I'm just here for the games, gee, you people are grumpy, find your higher purpose on this Earth before you die!

    • and you're doing that playing computer games?

      • Yeah, I'm not linear but multifacet, so computer games make up a small part of a greater whole. It's great to have your shit together…

        • -1

so you're finding 'your higher purpose on this Earth before you die!'

          by playing computer games.

          ok then

          • +1

@petry: You might need a lesson on comprehension, that would be a good start for you.

            • +1

              @RocketSwitch: Don't bother with @petry.

He/she doesn't read your posts and replies with something stupid

              • @DevlicK: another pathetic site cyber stalker

            • @RocketSwitch: so when you wrote 'I'm just here for the games, gee, you people are grumpy, find your higher purpose on this Earth before you die!'

playing computer games then had nothing to do with anyone finding 'your higher purpose on this Earth before you die!'

so what does 'I'm just here for the games, gee, you people are grumpy, find your higher purpose on this Earth before you die!' actually mean in regard to the bundle for palestinian aid?

  • -1

Judging by the positive votes Australia has no hope and no future. Too many people have absolutely no idea about the subject and they think they know everything, thanks to the brainwashing by MSM and socialist/Marxist/communist propaganda in the universities.
These people are happy to give their financial support to the terrorists just to get some cheap games.

    • +2

I suspect a few knows what they are doing. They know the money won't go to the poor. it's a way to finance another war. War are expensive. Hamas need money.

  • Baba is You is now also included in the bundle.

  • I bought the bundle. Awesome value and an excellent cause to help the victims of the violence.

  • -1

Not a deal. The UNRWA is a terrorist supporting organisation (https://unwatch.org/whats-wrong-unrwa-must-reformed/ ). I am not sending any money there and neither should anyone from OzBargain, this is sick.
