Tefal FX1000 AirFryer $109 Delivered @ Myer

180

I've been looking out for a new AirFryer recently and came across this deal, significantly cheaper than anywhere else I can find it and review look pretty good.

  • Good idea to put a few specs in the post - seems pretty overpriced compared to the Mistral's 3.5L airfryer for $49

I looked at that one but the reviews weren't as good, only 3.3 stars on Product Review compared to 4.3 for the Tefal plus none of them mention the Tefal exploding and burning their kitchen :)

      • If you're insured, might be a good way to get a new kitchen ;)

800g capacity? what is this, an airfryer for ants? XD

    • ha ha ha exactly my thought

    • how does gram stack up with litres in terms of air fryer capacity?

    • Fair point, I have any old 1.1kg though and never fill it to capacity so it depends what you use it for. I'm never going to do a whole chook in it, mostly just use it to cook fish and nuggets for the kids

This model is old, better off spend a little more $117

    • Do you have this model and have any feedback?

      • no, i have the model in this post, its old, does the job but wouldn't be paying $109 for it now, the one I linked is newer & a little larger just added it as a better deal then in post, comes to around $106 with afterpay deal at the moment

      Same here, still working !!

  • Having used two Tefal air fryers, I have to say this doesn't appear to be a unique design (i.e. Phillips copy).

The first one had a rotating arm (not many did this but was super useful if you did chips but bad for items that are crumbed/battered).

The second Tefal had a better tray that can be removed and cleaned separately.

This one has cons of all their models and the mesh tray that is impossible to clean.

With that being said, I would avoid analog timers as you are not able to set short-timers such as 1-3 mins.

  • I bought this and it arrived today.

I was absolutely shocked at how small the food tray was, at best I think it would be enough size for a snack for one. The actual size of the appliance is huge.

I also own a 7l Maxkon from eBay which worked okay for 16 months but that recently had problems with the fan.
