Decent price. Still spewing I missed out on the EPP
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ Bronze Wi-Fi 128GB $796.95 a few weeks back ahhhh

Might just cough up more for ipad pro 2021 just for the resale value.

Why would you buy something just for the resale value? Something like this you should buy for the usability. I don’t want to turn this into an Android vs iOS debate, but just stick with whichever OS you’re more comfortable with.

      • +8

Im actually pretty used to both ecosystems. My main phone is ios. My work phone is android. At the end of the day just want a tablet for netflix, disney plus, email and ozbargain.

Pen support is a huge plus and would be handy for work.

Either option would be fine. But ios has the resale value as an extra benefit.

        • +1

Sound like you mainly need it for media. Just get the lenovo for $350? Same size screen, widevine L1.

          • +2

@krisspy: What is the name of this tablet? im interested

            • @jasonlka: Lenovo p11/ xiaoxin pad. There's 3 versions now, non pro, pro and 2021. Non pro has ips where pro versions have oled.

          • @krisspy: No pen though

            • @akib: It has pen support. You can get the pen for like $30

        • I think if you don't want to game on the tablet just get s6 lite.

For me this why I went with Samsung because I had a similar type of user experience. However Samsung I could get an OLED display and quad speakers set up for similar price as the based model iPad. The S5e has been a fantastic tablet and DeX mode is awesome. Resale value doesn’t appeal to me, I picked up the tablet cheap, use it until it no longer works. I expect 5 or 6 years of use, so the yearly cost is low. I still use my $300 tablet I bought in 2014, do the maths. Battery is crap now though but still works fine outside of that and has hdmi. iPads are great value too, if you just stick to the base models. They’ll last for years and get great support.

if you are a regular tech buyer, surely resale value has to play a part in your decision? Some people are deep enough in 'both words' to not really care about the OS.

    • +1

Is the OLED screen really that much better?

      • +3

        It is

      • i own the s6 lite and bought it on the last ebay deal.
i watch it before going to sleep, and it sits on my chest. When viewing on an angle the edges do fade
but for $380, its worth it imo
id imagine an OLED screen worth double the price would be sublime viewing from any angle

Galaxy Tab S7 is LCD Panel. The bigger brother S7 Plus is OLED. And you can tell the difference.
I got it yesterday - bought it slightly cheaper with 10% off on TGG site last week and 3% gift cards. But not super excited with the screen compare to my Note 10 Plus!

    • I was fortunate enough to get one at the time… loving the Tab every moment.
Using as a notepad, YT machine, comic reader etc

    • +1

Knowing that the plus was this price recently is stopping me buy this.

      • It was samsung fire sale FYI. Bronze only and is discontinued Forever. Some lucky Ozbargainers managed to convince Cs to price match.

  • How is dex nowadays?

    • +5

it's awesome. Unless you wanna use it as your main computer then it's awful.

      • Can you do screen extension yet? I want it to be my main laptop.

        • +1

If you meant external screen then yes. I plug it into my wfh dock which includes a 34" for quick email replies once in a while when my laptop is left in the office. Works flawlessly.

If you want it to be your main laptop, however, then i'm very sorry.

          • @Penpinch: Ok, thanks, then I'll hold off till the ecosystem gets better.

            • @Wonderfool: I use the s6 tab non-lite version to remote in to my work computer desktop just put on a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and it becomes a great mobile system.

  • +1

Great price, I guess this would be cheaper than S7 FF.

  • Save even more with discounted ShopBack cards.

  • -8

    I would get an iPad.

  • +1

Oh man…I was going to hold out til Amazon Prime day to see if there's any lightning deals on android tablets but now I'm not sure….
Samsung hasn't even released the Tab S7 FE in Aus so can't even compare between the two…

    • +1

True oZbargainer would 28 degrees price protect claim if a sick deal came through

      • Unfortunately I don't have a 28 degrees card

    • I am in the same camp. This is very tempting.

    • From the leaks the specs of the tab S7 FE seems disappointing for the price

  • +1

This is a top notch device for the price. Plus you don't have to play the OLED panel lottery since it's LCD. With OLED ones on a gray background it has a green tinge at the lowest brightness.

    • +2

LCD screens aren't perfect either, most panels have some backlight bleed.

  • -3

Nahhh I ordered the xiaoxin pad pro 2021 OLED version for $650 delivered instead of this. SD870.

    • Intriguing. May i ask from where? Bangood? I might consider one of those, also.

      • +1

Banggood but I ordered from Giztop.

    • +3

I'm not fond of Chinese software. UI makes a big difference.

    • Did u use a discount code to get that price at Giztop? Showing as $667.50 delivered, for me.

      A$638.94
      A$28.56 (shipping)
      A$3.88 (shipping insurance)
      Total: A$667.50

      • AUD pricing may be factuating, due to the exchange rate.

  • +1

    No forgee

  • Whew 1 week postage and no stores local have stock. That could have been an expensive impulse buy.

    • Mine will arrive tomorrow.

      • Update will be receiving today.

  • +1

Mainly using for reading and marking up long PDFs. Is the Plus worth it? (i'm tired of waiting for 'paper'-like tablets to get better)

  • +3

It's a great deal but i still can't afford it.

  • Can anyone recommend a budget device? Tab A7 maybe?

    • +2

No, Xiaoxin pad pro 2021 with Snapdragon 870 and OLED screen.

      • Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro is coming soon with an OLED screen as well.

        • Is it? Rumours point to it being LCD with 120hz. I'd rather OLED, better for movies.

      • But there is no way for us to purchase xiaoxin with convinent aftersales right?
Searched briefly seeing only few offers it
I would prefer tab s6 lite

        • I've reacherched both and went with the S7 for $679 (AFTPY15) as I believe it's the better performing tablet with more longevity and local support and DeX (also got the local stock keyboard cover for $185 from another seller).

          • @elektron: Ironicaly I'm currently on the same page
Pondering about should I buy s7

            • @LocalTG: It would have been a much easier decision for me if I actually needed one, haha…But then, I would have probably jumped on the previous deal.

  • I tried using the Samsung pen & next to the Apple Pencil I went with the iPad & Apple Pencil it was a much better experience

    • Interesting. Is it possible that you were used to the feel of the iPad and a long-time Samsung pen user may have felt differently trying the Apple Pencil?

  • I've got the S6, after years of (hardly) using a cheap tablet it's a revelation, the audio/video/battery is great and its very versatile. This one is even better, worth the money.

    • How is the S7 better (besides being a bit faster), given that the S6 lite has been at around the $400 pricepoint?

  • Does anyone think the s7 or s7+ will go down more in price when the s8s come out? Or should I buy this…

    • +1

Probably won't go down much considering it will cannibalise 7 FE sales
