Got one last time. Happy. Great for the kids.
I'd give 10/10 but I'll go a 9 because I think packaging could be improved. Box very light weight. Decent amount of bubble wrap but was hoping for a better box. ULTRA thin, luckily I cut off my delivery guy before he threw it on the lawn over my 6' fence.

  • Ermm do these come with a HDMI port version at all, would like to use as a home media set up

    • +2

      Hi, VGA and display port
but maybe add a note on your purchase or speak to one of the guys, they might be able to chuck in a low profile card with a HDMI output!

      • Are there any low profile graphics cards available that would fit this case?

        • +4

I've had a saved search on eBay for the last little while for "GT 1030 low profile" and I've seen a few come up.

They tend to go for about $100, give or take. It's probably the most powerful card you'll be able to get for this PC. You're limited to drawing power from the pci-e slot but it'll be a decent jump up from the integrated graphics of the processor.

Other than that, you could just get a simple DisplayPort to HDMI cable for your HTPC needs.

          • @whitey1212: Wait for an AliExpress cashback increase or sitewide coupon to get a Yeston RX550. A bit of a step down from a GT 1030 but can easily be overclocked, comes in different form factors and available in many output configurations.

@Clear: I have this rig with a GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB & its the best money I ever spent on a PC. I took an angle grinder to the case and put a mesh on the case where I made the cutout for the card to breathe easy. FYI card doesnt bulge out of the case more just to provide a straight exit path for the heat. Ask me anything.

Just use a DP to HDMI cable. $5 ebay.

    • Just use a $5 Displayport to HDMI adapter

  • Site says free delivery over 79 bucks but is still adding shipping at checkout?

  • Got one, thanks OP. However, I got charged $14 for delivery

    • It's being fixed now, message through and one of the guys will sort out refund or reorder!

  • Is there an eBay option?

  • can you add a GPU to this one ?

    • +1

Yes you can, low profile but it will be on a PCIEx4 slot and not x16 slot. So there will be a 5-10% performance decrease on FPS

      • There is a PCIE riser cable & you could just mount the card externally. But I havent seen any reviews on the performance of a riser cable.

        • +1

why would you want to mount a card externally on an old optiplex?

          • @Homr: Well for starters you could have a nicer graphics card in the system. Not have to worry about the dimensions and not have to worry about restricted airflow. The added FPS of 5-10% as you mentioned would be nice for someone short on $$$

            • +1

@Gravehaunted: the PCIE riser would defeat the purpose of having a Small Form Factor PC

    • Depends? Are your kidneys fit for sale? GPU prices are still sky-high.

  • How would it perform for apps like Zwift?

    • +1

Got this exact SFF PC added a GTX 1050 Low Profile card. Get 60fps in free ride, around 30fps in big events.
      Based on Ultra settings

  • Delivery charge for me is $14.51 - any way of free delivery?

  • +5

Hey everyone , fixed the free postage issue, should work now, we can cancel orders and redo them or refund the shipping total! Apologies for that

  • Perfect little system for plex. Recently made the switch to a dedicated NAS but this thing worked fantastically for years without any issues.

  • Is this desktop the same as the HP Elite 800 G1 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/628700 but with a smaller hard drive? Is there any other difference in performance?

    • +2

HP Elite 800 G1 is better

      1. It can fit more hard drives. G1 can fit 3x3.5inch HDD while OPtiplex can fit 1x3.5inch and 1x2.5inch
      2. Low profile GPU can be place into the x16 PCIE slot on the G1 while the Optiplex can only place on 4x PCIE
  • Can someone tell me what the dimensions are please?

    Thanks

    • Small Form Factor 29.00 cm (11.42 inches) 9.30 cm (3.66 inches)

      • thank you

      • H29.00 cm (11.42 inches) W9.30 cm (3.66 inches) D31.20 cm (12.28 inches)

  • Is this case strong enough to hold a 19 inch CRT monitor directly on top of it?

  • Probably a crazy question but, is it possible to get one of these (or a similar Dell) with Windows 7 installed?

  • How about the power consumption (KW)? May use it as a server,

  • What’s the ram setup in these? Is the 8gb one stick, or two fours? How many slots on the mobo?

    Tia

    • Got one from their previous deal, 2x4GB sticks and 4 slots.
Not sure if others got 1x8GB

      • +1

        they usually are 2*4gb
and the mobo has 4 DIMM slots

  • I have still not received order confirmation or tax invoice 3 hours after ordering and money has already been deducted. How long does it take?

    • Hi , we've had 100+ orders atm, please be patient we're getting through as many as we can

  • Hi, Please excuse my ignorance , can I use 2 monitors with this ?

    • yeah , two display port or a VGA cord

  • Any deals coming up on i5-6500 or newer? I need 3 for work but worried these are getting a bit old

  • I have this CPU, ram & SSD combo running my Plex server, it's pretty good for the price.

  • Something wrong with the website, not able to access and order.

    • should be working, works for us on different networks

      • Not working still trying.

  • Will this run Adobe creative suite.

  • These cost much less depending on who you get it from

Some organisations even give out these for free.

    • +1

I would like a free one please.

      • Ask your UNI/School.

/They might sell it for very cheap

      • +1

I know the tech guy at my school very well and have a couple of lenovo sff's at home.

        • i assume public?

  • +1

Anyone know if it's a single mode or a dual mode display port..
Or another way of saying that is will a passive Display Port to HDMI adaptor work with it or will I get a blank screen?

    Thanks
