Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S2 DJ Controller + Bonuses, $399.99us > ~ $450AUD Shipped

80

Native Instruments just dropped the price of the Kontrol S2 to $449USD, most stores are selling it for $399USD now. The DJTechTools store (run by controllorist legend and wizard Ean Golden) is selling it for $399.99USD, and includes:

FREE DJ Tech Tools Bonus Pack included with order
PowerTools Sound Library - $14.99
Chroma Caps: S2 Pack - $39.40
TechTools Custom S2 Mapping - $4.99
Dual RCA to RCA Cable - $14.99

Shipping to Australia is $71 Priority mail or $90 Express mail (USPS, I requested to ship via UPS/DHL/Fedex due to how useless/slow/unreliable USPS is though)

Brilliant deal. Paid via paypal it ended up costing me ~$451AUD last night. There are a few other bundles too, i'd say the TMA-1 bundle would be a great bargain too (DJTT have them for $199USD and you save $20 bundling, headphones.com.au have them for $249AUD). Great prices while the currency is high :)

Description:

  • Better to buy from storedj.com.au or other local store for $450 in my opinion, you don't get the bonus pack but you do get local warranty and service. It's worth it. Good product and deal at this price (note this is a limited offer by Native Instruments until 31st March)

StoreDJ has it for $499, and TBH there really isn't any issue with warranties and what not, NI don't even have a local service agent so it would be sent to the states (edit: Germany) anyways…. you still get a full warranty with DJTechTools…..

But yea, even StoreDj for $499 is a good deal for a local seller. I've seen a few on ebay that are also australian sellers for $449 so yea.

I just figured i'd get it from DJTT for the extra bonuses (I would have bought the caps and mapping anyway), and because I won't be back in brisbane for a few weeks so I won't have a chance to pick one up locally in the same time I could get it sent here, plus the whole warranty being a nonissue thing (for me at least).

Whoops, my mistake! I guess you're right it's a good deal!

  • as soon as I got the NI email yesterday that the S2 has dropped, I'm definitely keen on getting it. Love the DJTT's custom mapping too… I already have the S4 but I don't need the extra channel strips or hotcue buttons. definitely prefer the S2 smaller footprint.

ps. anyone after a S4? :) Need to sell it before I can get the S2 haha…

    • Interesting, downgrade from the S4 to S2 :p

In my use of controllers so far (Mixtrack Pro with 4 channel mapping) - I never touch Deck C and D, plus the S2 being cheaper is why I went for it.

My only wish is that the S2 had dedicated filter knobs, but oh wells, the gain knobs can be turned into filter knobs anyways (just without centre marks)

      shrugs

      • yea my biggest issue with the S2 (well, my only issue) is them dropping the hardware filter knob. i used that a fair bit on my S4… I guess I'll just remap one of the FX knobs as a dedicate filter and use the other ones in chain.

ps. if you know anyone who wants an S4 instead, let me know haha…

        • Well you can remap the gain knobs to be dedicated filter knobs, just without the centre marks on the encoders which is a bit annoying but oh wells. I hardly ever use the gain knobs… no idea why they always feature on hardware controllers, seems to be one of those things that you gain on import to normalise and then leave it (hell, if needs be just throw the channel fader down a bit?)

Aaanyways, will do mate haha, i'm sure someone will, they're still highly sought after.

  • your proble better off buying from australia because youll have to factor in $40 for the power pack.

ps. to the people looking at selling there s4 let me know at kingsteven86 at gmail dot com

actually, the S4 came with multiple plugs and i'm sure the S2 would be the same too.

additionally, the S2/S4 can be powered via USB (albeit with slightly dimmer lights). no effect on sound output.

i'll be sending you an email shortly :)

    • $40 for a power adapter? lol.

Pretty sure the S2/S4 comes with a power cable and adapters for various countries anyways(single sku = much easier to ship), and the unit is 100-240v compatible…. so its not an issue.

Plus you're getting other stuff in addition to saving $50….

Edit: Pretty sure it would be EXACTLY this power cable: https://www.storedj.com.au/products/NI-KNTRLS4PS with all the adapters and what not, so like I said, no issue.

      • yup - that's the one that comes by default with the S4.

    • Anyone suggesting a power pack should cost $40 should be banned from OZB :-p

    • re-read the first paragraph. basically, through DJTT you get the additional items listed for a little bit more.
