  • There's a Deepcool Maxtrix 30 on Amazon for $50 delivered with Tglass.

My friend has one of this, really poorly made. The metal parts are really flimsy, not recommend.

  • Gotta love that edgy asymmetrical design, and SuperSpeed USB 3.0!
(Jokes aside, I'd probably buy this if I was looking at budget build)

  • How restrictive is the mesh at the front? Could be good, but scared that it seems pretty thick

    • +1

In this video from 0:55 to 1:05 you can see the mesh front. It really doesn't seem to be too restrictive.

    • it has foam behind it, rip that out then it isn't too bad but not up to the level of the modern mesh cases like TD500, Fractal Meshify, etc

whats the ozbargain-approved mb/cpu combo for this?

    • So for this case you will build a PC with Ozbargin spirit ;)

    • Oz Bargainers often disagree with each other…
"5600X + B550M Gaming Motherboard $440.10" is pretty hot if you ask me OzBargain
Motherboard recommendations can change depending on your needs and how long you wait between upgrades…
An Intel 11400F CPU can also be a great value chip if you can find a bargain on a mobo

    • What are you looking to do with the build?

  • Does anyone know of a cheaper graphics card that will run 4k at 60hz? I feel like my only option is a 1650. Absolutely no gaming at all.

1050ti will do it fine, but they are $350. I paid a little over $200 two years ago haha.

      • Thanks for the recommendation, that is a consideration pending locating one.

If you're just web browsing/video playback etc., then integrated graphics is the way to go (e.g. a 3200G/3400G/4650G). Otherwise a second-hand older GPU, just make sure it has HDMI 2.0.

      • Thank you, will have a look.

        • I set up my mate's HTPC with a lowly Athlon 200GE a few years back, does 4k60 just no HDR, so all the higher/better AMD APUs should piss it in

Intel 11th Gen might be a go too with its newer iGPU as well

    • Assume you don't have an integrated AGPU? Could be more cost effective to get a new CPU with Integrated Graphics, they do 4k 60hertz no issues.

      • I was contemplating that, but I got lost because people say it could run that res and refresh rate, others say it can't. Do you have an example of a CPU with integrated gpu that will do - the only thing to look out for is if the motherboard has hdmi 2.0

        • Intel I5-11400 will do. Note - you want that exact model, not the "F" suffix which is without the IGP. The UHD 730 it comes with can do 4k @ 60Hz: https://www.intel.com.au/content/www/au/en/products/sku/2122…

@cyssero: I really appreciate your help! Thank you

            • +1

@Pixie13: Most modern CPU's with integrated graphics will do 4k@60Hz but the actual motherboard has to have a HDMI 2.0 port as well to use that mode. Lots of motherboards cheap out with a 1.4 port. Check the specs carefully on the MB vendors site. This is a useful reference too: https://www.reddit.com/r/htpc/wiki/hdmi20

              • @karimk74: Thanks. Yes, you need to spend a bit more to make sure that the motherboard has hdmi 2.0

    • You can do this on displayport on something as elderly as a HD 7850.

      • I see that, but my receiver does not have dp.

  • Would this support 3 - 3.5" drives and a 2.5" SSD?

    • Mini tower with great expandability that supports up to three 3.5" HDD and four 2.5" SSD

whooops, i didnt see that, thanks heaps

  • Just be aware, front mount AIO slot isn't really usable as the top tank is below CPU level, so that actually bad thing from the GN video not just the "hoses up" thing everyone gets wrong (in tank pumps are fine, in CPU block pumps no go).

Also you're pretty limited on air cooler size too, I struggled to cool a 10600KF in one of these but Ryzen 5 was fine

  • Perfect, was looking at a cheap MATX case for the FX8120 system that I was given.

Was a Pyron, but it has an Asus board that looks like its barley been used.

Have a NOS Thermalright Macho that's 162mm which I should be able to fit in this.

Edit: OOS for online. Damn :(

Any other suggestions on cheap cases?
