I really like the blue or green silicone strap ones. Also the shape of the watch and the crown protection. And sapphire!

    • Hold on to your cash folks. There could be more discounts coming, Stop buying when you don't need one.

  • +2

Just servicing my watch cost 5x this… :(

    • Which one did you get serviced?

      • +2

        Oris Automatic. Titanium Dive (1km)

        Complete Service (Cal. 643) 400.00
        Hands 35.00
        Seals 25.00
        Freight, insurance and handling 20.00
        GST 48.00
        Total inclusive of GST 528.00

        • Ouch, I'm guessing the $35.00 is for new hands?

          • +2

@WatchNerd: Their comment: The movement oils are dried out and this is causing the watch to stop. It is well due for a Complete Service.
The hands and dial show water-entry damage. New hands are required. A replacement dial is listed as optional.

The bracelet shows some weak spots and has a little stretch in it. We have listed a new bracelet as optional also, and we are offering it to you at around half the retail price.

            — The hands and dial when viewed through a 20x loop always had some slight corrosion, you can't see it naked eye… I just assumed it was like that and didn't question from new.

This was my 2nd service and most likely the last, as they need it every 3 years.

  • +1

Seriously got two of these last deal and both running about -5 to -10 a day which is pretty awesome. I prefer the quality of their waffle straps in comparison to their hole rubber strap.

    • +1

I got the stainless band and blue face VERY nice watch for the money,

    • mine too one -2 the other is +2 i could not be happier with these they are so far above so many others at 4x the cost.

  • Isn’t Aliexpress stuff fake?

    • +4

This is a Steeldive watch from the official Steeldive Aliexpress Store.

      • Steeldive is a china copy of the willard. It is 'fake' by defintion but its of a v. high quality w/ nh35 and sapphire.

And since Seiko isnt really even making these at any kind of good price… if ya wanna look like Apocalypse Now Martin Sheen…

        • +6

This isn't a copy / fake. If it was it would say "Seiko" on the dial & they're not allowed to be posted on Ozbargain.
It's a homage as mentioned in the description (youtube review links).

  • +6

I bought this watch from WatchNerd's last deal. The quality and feel of the watch is exactly as stated in the reviews: excellent. Especially for the price point. Be aware that if you're looking for a replacement clasp you'll need it to be 18mm despite the watch's lug width being 20mm.

  • -6

Decent value for money but this will have next to no resale value. In comparison, if you bought a Seiko SKX007 5 years ago for $250 you'll be pleased to know that they are now selling for double that. If you can, spend a little more and buy a name brand divers watch, they are currently a good investment.

    • +7

If purchasing a watch for it's resale value then maybe just stick to Rolex

      • -5

My math isn't great but making a $250 profit on a $250 investment is the same as making a $10,000 profit on a $10,000 investment.

        • +7

Who cares though. This is a $107 watch deal with amazing specs for the money that will most likely last 20 - 25 years.

Buy it, wear it & enjoy it.

          • +2

            @WatchNerd: Some do.

Buy it, wear it, enjoy it, sell it / pass it on.

        • +2

OK but most people are probably not "investing" in watches.

          • -2

@smartazz104: Most people who bought a SKX007 a few years ago did not purchase it as an investment. My point is that quality divers watches are holding their value and many are increasing over time. If you are in the market for one, consider spending a little more because you will likely be rewarded in the future. That's all I'm saying. But by all means, buy this watch.

            • +2

@[Deactivated]: I'd say that the skx line has been overhyped a fair bit on YouTube and as a result went up in value, I don't believe long term people should buy an skx assuming it will keep increasing in value.

At the end of the day a watch with hacking, hand winding and an aligned ceramic bezel for just over $100 aud is a much better buy.

              • +1

@Perrino: Completely agree with @Perrino. I'd also add my copy has quite an accurate movement, better than the skx and budget Orient divers I've tried.

    • +2

This is a $100 watch. 20 years ago I had a couple of Fossils watches which would cost more but only lasts 5 years.

Seriously no one resells a watch that costs $100 - $150. They are disposables.

    • Actually, if you flip this you'll probably lose $5-10.

Come on, you're referencing an iconic dive watch (which I own) that has been around for decades and is now discontinued. The SKX is ISO rated, but inferior in some aspects. $107 is toy money for a watch. I am curious, which watches under $400 are good investment?

    • But the SKX is a rare case. How many watches have Seiko made in the last 10-15 years that are under $500, and how many have increased in value? The SKX is just an example of survivorship bias.

    • +8

      investors ruin every hobby.
just buy watches you like. you'll enjoy them more.
and if they happen to retain or increase in value, that's merely a bonus.

      • -3

Don't worry, investors will never ruin your Steeldive hobby

        • i….don't even have a single steeldive but you believe what you want if it makes you feel better lol

  • +3

WatchNerd, I don't know whether to hate you or to love you. Just stop it :)

  • Thanks OP - looks like a great watch. What do they normally go for on Ali when sales aren't on?

  • How do you know its the official steeldive store?

Pagani design latest iteration of the submariner is the best sub homage under 200 dollars period. its faultless for 76usd (special) which is 100 aud delivered. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001634750731.html i got the hulk (green) myself and its absolutely gorgeous, here is a YouTube comparing it to a real rolex. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E43zAwE2Zo&t=1055s

    • +4

OMG Please! That 'reviewer' is being shamed at the moment online from the real watch reviewers. He is spamming comments in the other Youtube reviewer's comments with a bot. He was also called out on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/ChineseWatches/ due to constant spamming. They actually changed the posting guidelines because of him. I believe he takes payment for reviews. https://www.reddit.com/r/ChineseWatches/comments/nvxcjv/upda…

Not saying it's a bad watch, but Youtubers aren't always honest. You should watch this to learn more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEitW7L6UyA&t=3s

I also disagree that it is the best watch under under $200. It's great for a $100. But that's a deep rabbit hole I'm not going down right now.

      • -4

what are you talking about this guy does reviews of real watches and some homages, the links you send just goes to reddit Chinese watches home page,, also as far as pagani design I own 4 of them.. also I don't really go by what he says, i just searched up a random review to post on here there are any other reviews of this watch, compared to much more expensive homages where it outshined them the $700 Steinhart, steeldive, tisell to name a few, I've also handled a real rolex at a dealer. my friend also has a real one that ive worn for an hour while we were out to get a feel of it, I'm telling you the pagani is %99 the same watch as far as feel and look goes, also yeh no shit the real one is better finish. I don't know that guy nor do i go by his reviews, there are hundreds of reviews from this watch from people who actually bought it, also from people who have the real thing and don't want to wear it because they are afraid to damage it so they buy the pagani to wear instead, its that good. im curious where does your opinion come from about pagani not being the best option under 200, do you have any other recommendation for a sub homage under 200 that beats the pagani? I'm all ears

        • +4

Mate, why are you super aggressive? I didn't say it was a bad watch. In fact, I've being considering picking one up to mod for fun.

But as someone who has owned tonnes of watches (plenty of Swiss, Japanese and Chinese from Oris to Seiko to San Martin, even…gulp…Steinharts and Tisell) and puts them together for fun, I know exactly what a Pagani is and what it's worth. I've even owned one! Enjoy your Pagani, I can you see you really enjoy it and that's the most important thing.

          • -6

@ilikeit: how am I being aggressive, you said there are better homages for under 200, I asked you to name a few? and send a link to show proof

          • -5

@ilikeit: lol nice negs bro how many accounts do you have? still waiting for the recommendation of a better homage for under 200 btw.. take ur time

            • @striker5950: The Pagani lume is the biggest negative. The general consensus is to go with San Martin if you can, otherwise steeldive has a far superior lume (included on the bezel too) , better qc, better water resistance, but slightly inaccurate colors and the worst ss band of the lot. Whilst Pagani has the most accurate colors and a good ss band, but the qc is hit and miss + no lume on the bezel.

Since I would swap the strap out anyway, I chose the Steeldive for its lume and all-round neater lines/qc. Paganini not a bad option, just depends what you want.

  • Link not working for me

  • Would this be suitable for a 6" wrist? Currently wearing a 38mm watch and don't think I can manage any bigger.

    • sure my wife does and if you don't like it put it on market place and get all if not most of your money back

to my liking its too big for many folk but it fits the aesthetic

however it does wear small and martin sheen was something like 1,70m tall and slim

my daily is an orient triton which is about this size but i'm 1,80m or so

        • what size wrist on the left photo? seems a tad too big

my daily is san martin retro diver which is perfect size at 38mm

  • Hi WatchNerd what are your thoughts on the new San Martin watch?
    https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005002634723299.html

The Willard I think will wear too big on my 6" wrist so looking at alternatives

  • Damnit. I didn't need another dive watch. Oh well, have wanted to try this style case for a while, so it'll scratch that itch at a low cost at least .

  • Wish it had round markers instead of square

    • its THE perfect watch base to start with to mod! NH35 parts are plentiful and cheap

      • I'm trying to talk myself out of this, don't talk me back into it! 😅

  • I like my Steeldive from the last deal, but the only annoyance is that it loses power too quickly after having not worn it (less than a day).

    • +2

You do know they hand wind don't you, just get into the habit of winding your watch!

      • What a minute what a minute wait a minute. So I just unscrew the crown, wind the watch and screw it back in? I did not know that!!! I thought it was a fully automatic movement!

  • Any pepsi bezel submariners or divers?
Otherwise the green ones look cool.

  • +1

Are the SteelDive waffle bands decent quality and worth $A16.08 ?

Good question, I will find out soon as I ordered another watch with this strap so will get back to you.

I've already got this one & wouldn't buy it again. It's got a grippy finish which attracts dust & is very soft flexible rubber.
The waffles aren't very noticeable either.

    • +3

I would only get one if it is made from FKM aka fluorine rubber. FKM is very soft, pliable and doesn't attract dust at all. I have a tonne of FKM straps and that's all I'll use now. I have one FKM waffle I bought from Etsy. I have two other San Martin ones that feel plastic and stiff.

Does anyone have one of these

    • +1

I dont. But I find CNS to be at the lower end quality wise. The buckle in the one you linked looks cheap and thin and doesn't really suit the strap. Also, it's made from TPU. I wanted to buy one of these from a different supplier 6 months ago, but I read they were stiff. Deliveries from CNS are sent by row boat too - something like 6 weeks with no tracking.

      • I will probably get one anyway unless there is a better option with the same look.

  • Steeldive Store has adjusted their prices now but they have a few different pages selling this model, so if you still want one please check them all via their main store page.

  • +3

Got mine today. Damn. It's a nice watch for $120. The fit and finish is pretty good.

There does seem to be a little bit of movement in the spring bars (when squeezing the strap), not a big deal, just… not sure I've noticed that with my other watches. Although that could just totally be the strap being loose on them, not sure. Speaking of the strap, the supplied rubber strap isn't too bad either for that matter (and of course I'm kind of halfway between sizing holes, so it's either wearing too tight or too loose unfortunately). But it doesn't smell too badly out of the box and seems soft enough. Nice. Branded as Fuerman if that gives another option with regards to straps in one of the replies above. Will see how it goes with dust attracting abilities. About 5mm at the lugs tapering down to about 3mm at the ends, so it's thicc. Although I do wish it didn't taper from 20mm width at the lugs to 18mm at the clasp. I really do prefer a consistent width unless it's a dress watch.

The lume seems pretty good. Both on dial and bezel. Although can't speak to practical usage yet. I'm not sure about the choice of a ceramic bezel for this watch though, somehow I feel an aluminium bezel would have suited it a bit better, even if it then missed out on lume. It just seems a bit shiny. Nice quality though. Little bit of movement vertically when pressing around, but solid when spinning with no back play. Albeit at a higher pitch click, if that makes sense.

The dial seems solid. I like the applied indices. Personal opinion, but I prefer the rectangular indices over the round ones of most modern cheaper Seikos. The hands seem reasonable enough. The black chapter ring is something a bit different for me and is pretty cool. Small things I guess. They've done a reasonable job with the logo and text placement too. Not excessive, not out of place. About right. Slightly raised flat crystal. I do like domed, but this is okay.

I've got a pretty skinny wrist at around 6 inches, but I think I'm okay with the size of it. Pilot watches, dive watches and G-Shocks by definition or usage get a pass by me with regards to normal sizing (within reason), so slightly over oversize is okay. But the short lug to lug helps with wearability, so yeah. See what happens when it's not winter and I have to actually expose my wrists haha.

Can't speak to the movement after only about 12 hours on the wrist (most of which on a work day was in the office and sitting down), but it will be running fast by the looks of it. But certainly within acceptable limits so far. First watch I've had that still winds while screwing down the crown too. That's a bit unsettling, oh no, I'm done something wrong!

Does this make me want to buy a Seiko 6105 or SPB151? No. There were times in the past when I wanted wanted to. Would it be a better watch? Obviously, but give me the money to buy that, I'd buy something different I think. I do like this though. Will definitely turn into my beater diver watch. Even if at the moment it seems too good to do that.

    YMMV.
