  • Good specs. Good price but is it good MSI quality?

    • personaly i havnt had any major problems with it so far but still early days
if you do a search theres posts about problems with hinges but they are for older models and the hinges on mine seem pretty solid but yeah its still early days
people say msi support isnt too good but when i contacted them about a small issue they got back to me the next day and a few emails back and forth all replied to within 1 day or the same day so i found that to be pretty good so maybe they improved

    • My MSI GF65 has fans that rattle when doing firmware updates :(

    • actually there is a problem with the steelseries laptop keyboards that i completely forgot about the spacebar doesnt always register when pressed on the far ends of the spacebar and its been the same for at least 5 years it doesnt bother me really i just dont press at the far ends
some people have made it better by sliding a small piece of paper under the spacebar

      https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/175845/How+can+fix+my+ms…

      • i wouldnt take the spacebar off like some people have done it might be too hard to put it back on as some others have reported

Afterpay code (AFTPY15) can bring it down to 15% off too ($1614.15)

  • isn't rtx3070 same price

    • cheapest 17.3" laptop with RTX3070 showing on staticice costs around $3500
      https://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=17.3%22+3070&s…

      • ASUS 15.6" F15 TUF Dash Laptop with rtx3070 $1997 at Officeworks just last week.

I've seen desktops for around $1800

        • i dont now much about the specs but being a 3070 it looks like you got a pretty good deal on that one :)

        • Since this deal comes down to about $1700 with a discount code, I wouldn't be calling a $1997 deal "same price". That's about $300 difference for a 3070 instead of a 2070.

yeah no. the asus 3070 is hardly a deal compare to this:

not only is it 15.6 vs 17.3, its also a 35w 4c8t 11th gen vs 45w 6c12t, the 3070 is also only 85w that the performance boost vs a 2070 is questionable, and the 2070 laptop 300 dollars cheaper and have an intergrated webcam.

A 1799$ gigabyte g5 kc with 10500h and 105w 3060 will easily beat the tuf dash in games and an 1799$ 5600h and 85w 3060 will easily beat the tuf dash productivity wise.

Not to mentiion that just like the legion 5 pro, the dash suffers from ram issues that means you lose 10% fps in cpu bound games unless you upgrade the ram yourself.

Dont get me wrong, i dont hate asus, i have a zephyrus duo myself and love it. But the h35 tuf dash is easily the worst 30 series laptop this year by a long shot, tricking clueless customers into thinking it got a 3070 gpu and a new intel 11th gen 10nm cpu but in actuality it got the worst of both worlds.

@Brrrrt: I agree which is why I didn't get it, but was just saying that there are cheap 3070's out there. Personally to me a laptop isn't the way to go for gaming when it comes to 30 series or high end 20 series.

@michael9865: I would have agreed with you normally but given the current gpu prices I think gaming laptops arent that bad of a choice for the average joe, its basically fool proof compared to a PC and warranty/repairs are a lot more straight forward.

Asus tuf a15(2021) $1698.00 with afterpay if any are interested. Screen could be better and will require a little help with cooling on warm days but a big improvement on 2020 model with some great specs.
