Call me a cheapskate but at those prices I'd be checking out the $50 copies on AliExpress before I parted with that much of my hard earned cash

    • +3

You're a cheapskate. The cheapskate move is to check your FB Marketplace or local buyswap sell group heaps of these for good prices.

    • +2

If carrying my child, I'd rather not cheap out $100 in something that will determine whether the child falls or not during a hike.

Why would you cheap out on something so important? Either don't buy it or buy the proper one for $100 more, or as above, buy a used one.

      • -3

It would be a saving of nearly $300 off rrp.

Child isn't just going to bounce out of a well made baby carrier, not unless it was a poor carrier that had no straps holding the child and the person was jogging like mad.

I would test it by attaching it to my pull up bars and test if it holds my own weight, if it holds my weight then it's good enough for my kid.

          so… you'd test a device made for 0-20kg children on yourself, a grown adult…

          okay.

And as per the post, these can be had for $180 which is what I've purchased mine for. So maybe a $100 savings by going to aliexpress and cheaping out on something that my drop your child. Noice.

@blergmonkeys: To see how long it can hold my weight, my guess just about any baby carrier can hold an adult's weight, the baby carriers are made from synthetic fibres, polyester, they are very strong.

The greatest sales gimmick from a 5 star salesmen is when a parent asks what's the difference between the more expensive X baby carrier and the cheaper Y baby carrier, corny salesmen the X baby carrier is more safer….. Of course there are even people who think a child will just go bouncing out of a harnessed baby carrier while on a hike πŸ™„

$180 is the absolute max I'd pay.

              @Wystri Warrick: cool story

I'm so glad there are people with more sense than you

              • -1

@blergmonkeys: That's the best you've got? So glad there are people who can actually put up a real debate/discussion and without getting upset and negging unlike you

                • -1

@Wystri Warrick: I learned a long time ago that there's no point in arguing sensibly with people that don't use sensible arguments.

                  • -3

@blergmonkeys: What part of my argument isn't sensible? Please back up your statement

Is a sensible argument claiming that a child will somehow magically pop out of their harnessed child carrier when the parent is on a hike?

Thanks OP. Just bought one from Amazon for $249 so back that goes and I've picked this one up for $186 shipped.

  • Does 15% off first order work on sale items?

    • +1

      Tried but didn't work..

  • Thanks bought the Embrace Baby Carrier πŸ™‚

  • Managed to get Omni 360 Cool Mesh Pearl Gray from BabyBunting @ $189.05.

    • How? Looking for a pearl gray one too!

      • Spoke to one of the stores on the phone (one refused) and they price beat it for me from Ergobaby website including $50 voucher, so $249-$50 = $199 - 5% = $189.05, picked it up already. Funny enough 1 other store said they won't do pricebeat with $50 voucher.

        • do you mind to share the location of the store? and which state? interested to get one as well…

          • +1

@langitbiru: Confirmed with Midland, WA and picked up from Innaloo store but Manager at Innaloo store told off Midland store not to do it. Try your luck..

            • @whatif: thanks mate, unfortunately i am at VIC… will try to ask in store. thank you again and have a good evening :)
