ah damn.. thanks for the heads up!

    • Depend how much gift card do you have. eBay is limited to 7+1 code. If you buy from JB instore, basically you can neg for further discount first, and then 10% off gc from last coles deal. Which is much better than ebay tgg. Same applies to TGG instore.

      • How do you negotiate in store? Every time I try they just have the "if you want it, that's the price" attitude.

Granted I usually try to negotiate pricematched and sale items, but just curious if this is just a me thing?

Basically every review has the Sony OLEDs as the better picture and brighter especially for HDR. Wonder if LG are seeing this and saying to put better prices so we take away sales from the Sony before they release the new models in Aus.

Is the Sony even similar pricing? Usually they are a fair bit more and little/no HDMI 2.1

Sony is quite a bit more expensive. And you still need to wait for VRR support via a firmware update (no release timing set so far).

    • I’m not disagreeing at all, but which Sony model? I’m incredibly close to buying this TV as the reviews I’ve seen have this as one of the best, if not, the best. I’d love to compare them.

      • Sony A80J
JB have the 65" but its not cheap - Again no VRR support so be careful. Sometimes sony take ages to actually hit the firmware updates

      • A90J would be the one to go for, better than the A80J. But if you're a gamer, beware as there is no VRR which makes the Sony TVs no good.

        • Only for Xbox and PC. Plus you lose some picture quality on xbox too if you want to play 120fps. Sony has an inbuilt vrr with the ps5 for new models. Dont know how all of a sudden everyone is an extreme gamer. Consoles can't give you that res as they use checkerboard upscaling and PC you have to pay through the roof for the GPUs which are barely in stock.

    • For movies/TV, absolutely. For gaming, Sony is missing VRR and you should never ever ever buy a tech product based on the promise of future firmware updates.

A major tv manufacturer products this and you say it’s pointless. It’s quite bold to say that. The view distance matters.

Yea have fun sitting 1.5m from Ur tv, I guess if U live in a small apartment it makes sense

        • Salty? I have a 75inch 9500 the model you mentioned.

        • You said it was pointless then gave an example where it would make sense ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Can't really compare a backlit LCD to a OLED panel, there's a big difference in image quality.

Weird. I love my 55" OLED it is the perfect size for watching stuff. Do I feel like I am at the cinema? Nope. But I enjoy everything I watch on it and never sit there wishing for a bigger size.

      • Yea, a few my mates bought 48 and 55 C1s for their man caves as well.

  • Just noticed 7% off gift card offer from Harvey Norman on Shopback. Anyone knows if we can use it? it'll be $3317 for 65" pretty good price though.

      Buy 5

      • Think its limited to 7 @ $250. Maybe thats single transaction and you can buy more? $500 card only get 5%

I refuse to buy anything from that evil greedy prick.

  • 8k?

  • After looking @ Rtings you'd be a mad hatter to think the CX is worth 1K more than the BX.

Source: Happy BX owner for nearly a year… both sets come with the same laggy slow lg interface but at least it's not Google infested

Also who actually needs to connect more than 2 hdmi 2.1 inputs the BX comes with 2 and the CX 4 ? Well a Next Gen Conslow … (which doubles as your BLu Ray Player and then a PC in other port ? Anything else need connecting to hdmi 2.1 ? I thought not

    • How about BX vs C1?

      • Oh woops looks like I got on my high horse and misread the C1 bit … thought it read as CX …. Although checking Rtings it shows that the C1 is almost identical to the CX anyway but with webos 6 which apparently is worse because it includes non opt out main page ads whereas my BX for example has opt out "suggested content" which I do and never clutters the home screen

        • By the way It's not secret that throughout recent electronics history businesses have differentiated products based on the slimmest "additional" features when the Base parts are exactly the same. I'm no genius but I reckon with a high level of confidence that all 65" and 55" BX CX and C1's have exactly the same panels but with MINOR changes external features like they just "Say" the processor in the CX is better than BX but id bet they're exactly the same !
