I think unless you're looking for a specific item that is never on special, there probably won't be great deals to be had. You can probably guarantee that most of the prices will be at their maximum, and this deal doesn't give you 20% off specials. Kinda reminds me of those "cost price + 1" deals that were available last year.

  •

LOL. It says in the SMS "some stores may have previously ticketed at a higher price and savings would be greater." How stupid do they think the public are??

So it's better to have higher ticketed prices because the savings would be greater……

    Good Guys now suck!

I understood this to mean that some items may have greater than 20% off depending on the store and the pricing history, but I understand your interpretation also.

      •

It didn't go down too well last year.

So I have called them up about a particular tv. They said they are selling it for $870 instore.

Can I report them to the ACC if I walk in tomorrow and find out they have upped the price?

        •

          probably not
they will just say it was discounted to $870

  •

Sounds pretty good, been looking for an olympus pen mini camera and at 20% off their regular price i'll buy it. How do you qualify for this deal though, just pront out the flyer and bring it in?

    •

The SMS I received from the following number +61400416781:

For bigger items you can usually haggle with them to get at least 20% off the ticketed price anyway. Specials like this just save you haggling.

  •

Is this in VIC only? or Australia wide?

  •

hmmmmm 20% off transformer prime would be nice….

  •

Will probably like a HN % off sale, where they revert to their inflated RRP and you usually end up saving next to nothing on everyday pricing.

  •

Does good guys sell portable HDD's?
20% off those could be ok, esspessially if officeworks then match it.

    •

tbh you'll probably find a "cheaper everyday" price at o-works. particularly if they have a catalogue special

  •

can someone call or email to see about this - the transformer prime would be a great deal!!

  •

    Interesting.

Samsung UA32D6000 at The Good Guys, Alexandria.

    $739 RRP — normal ticketed price $699.00 — Currently $669.00

    Normal ticketed price less 20% = $591.20

JB HiFi (World Square) = $580.00
Big Brown Box = $555.00 delivered

  •

walked into the one in the home maker centre essendon a few times, havent been able to get any service even after asking, walked out a couple of times 10-15 minutes later with no help.

  •

So Canon EOS 600D Twin Lens Kit less 20% is $959, seems all right.

  •

Dont hold ya breath anyone in WA I just went in and asked about this and they said they wont honour it here in WA! cheers boys

    •

Joondalup store (WA) honoured it for me with 20% off a ticket price on a camera that had not been jacked up for the day as they initially did not know about the sale and needed to go read their emails.
Took them a while to research it.

I've got a Galaxy Tab 7.7 on hold. After 20% it comes down to $455. Pretty decent price.

  • +1 vote

To confuse things even further they have bullsh1t one day only online sale on today.

    •

Wow the 7.7 gtab dropped to 483 online. Not bad.

      •

you think you could get in cheaper in store? and is postage charged online purchases??

        •

I don't know what postage is, but did you not see my post 2 levels above? $455 in-store.

  •

Oh great so you have already been in to get it without them haggling?

    can you post receipt possibly?

also, what store? i'm in Newcastle, NSW

    •

Going in after work to collect. I just called up to reserve it and they said 20% no worries. This is the Chadstone store in VIC.

  •

any one know if this sale is specific to any state?

  •

I called them yesterday and asked about the ticketed price of LG42LW5700. They said it's $870.

I called them today and I mentioned the 20% off and they said the ticketed price is $1070. I could have hagglde a better deal without the "20% off" bull crap.

Why do they waste our time like that?? I hope they go under and soon.

  •

Called them today - turns out NOT all stores were part of the promotion. Some then opted to put some of there stock on sale - and goodguys are copping complaints about this.

Was after the Transformer Prine…one store would order it in at the 20% off price (eta = WEEKS…but really unknown). One store was 'happy' to sell the scratched up display model at their RRP of $748 - no movement on price. Bad deal, and can't say I'd go there again. Ended hunting one down that was the last one in stock for 32Gb at $639 - equal to the 20% off the RRP. Happy customer. In the end, bargain for me, so +1 has been voted in.

  •

Just got my olympus camera, great deal for $396. Their web price was $530 but it was lower at the store :)

    •

      which camera is this?
your not referring to EPM1? are you? I just got back and the cheapest they would go with the 20% off was $498

      •

Yup, bought the e-pm1 with 14-42 kit zoom in black from goodguys frankston. Was $495 ticketed price, less 20%. buttons and dials a little small for my big sausage fingers but perfect for my wife as a walkabout camera. Ask for Dave, very good salesman :)

  •

just came back, goodguys stated not aware of any 20% off thing………

  • +1 vote

Amazing deal, thanks uploader! They honoured it no problem got the prime for $592! One happy customer.

    •

Hey do you mind posting/inboxing me a receipt?

      Thanks

  •

I have got the Galaxy Tab 7.7 for $455.20 at Alexandria. Thanks alchemist.

    •

you can say thanks and still not vote for the deal?

  •

I actually got an SMS from my local store yesterday for a 15% deal for today.

Scored the De'Longhi Nespresso Essenza (EN95SPLUS) with Aeroccino and 16 capsules for $237…also eligible for their current promotion for the coffee discovery box of 36 capsules too:

    •

15% off what and which day?

      •

15% off everything yesterday, including "on sale" items.

        •

hmm. u seem like a lucky guy to get that offer. others had 20% of RRP

        •

Yeah I was pretty happy with that…I didn't even have to ask…salesperson said "if you got the SMS we sent yesterday I will knock it down to $237" - I was like "ok"!

        •

good job. hope they have another one soon
