Just saw this deal. I believe this is version 1, not version 2. Never seen it below $200 before so it looks like a good deal, I got one cause of the amazon gift card I got from ANZ. Worth trying out.

I rather buy 3 of these mugs and last for a lifetime.

Agreed. I decided not to buy the travel mug because the darn thing was actually designed to cool off! On top of that it shuts off after 2 hours which totally goes against the concept, meaning my brew won't even be hot when I get back to it.

At least the zojirushi keeps my drink hot the whole day and doesn't waste electricity.

Depends, different strokes for different blokes. I'd never buy this, but I find Thermoses and similar products keep something incredibly hot for a stupid amount of time. If you're brewing boiling (and don't have time to let things cool before you need to pack it up), it's no fun to sit down to drink it and still have your coffee be 100 degrees.

I'm just holding out for a product that can let heat drop from boiling to a nice drinking temperature then keep it there for hours.

      • After burning my mouth and then my lap the first 2-3 times with my zojirushi, you'll be please to know I've learnt the importance of lowering the temperature of my drink before I cap it. Incredibly, it keeps it at that same drinkable temperature for the day.

        • Yeah but on warm days the luxury of waiting might not be an option. Making a pourover in the morn while rushing for work means a Thermos isn't the best solution

          • @frowny: Other than 2hr battery life, the Ember really seems to meet all your needs :P You'd probably be happy with one.

  • Thanks OP, would’ve got one with my $100 Amazon gift card if I hadn’t already used it to buy a whole heap of toilet paper yesterday…😃
