Thanks for posting OP. Looks like a solid price.

A warning about banggood though - there's essentially no warranty on these products. I bought the older Xiaomi bidet which died after 3 months and banggood wouldn't help at all. They simply cited it's outside their policy. Unfortunately I didn't buy through Paypal so couldn't claim, but lesson learned..

Isn't this contrary to Australian consumer law?

      • +4

Banggood does not 'operate' in Australia, so are outside Aussie laws.
Who knows if they even remit 10% GST to the ATO.

        • +2

Yikes, sus af. Thanks, I didn't quite realise…I'll stay clear!

          • +1

@wordpickle: I'll have to add some goes with international items from eBay. =p

    • Does Banggood has return policies?

  • +4

If it was really that smart, it'd tear off some of your Amazon-bought 4-ply quilton and wipe your bum for you

How does the water get connected?

    • You install a T-piece between the wall outlet and the cistern. From memory, when I did mine I supplied 1x flexible hose and the filter, T and 2nd flexible hose came with the seat. I needed the new hose because my toilet had an old rigid pipe.

    • +2

It comes with 2 hoses, a filter, a t-piece and a backflow prevention valve.

You turn off the water at the tap by your toilet, disconnected the hose to the toilet, put the t-piece on it, then reconnect the toilet.

To the new outlet, you put the backflow prevention valve (which squeaks like one of those annoying party horns - I've had 2, due to warranty issues, both have had a squeaky af valve). Then one hose goes to that valve, connects to the filter, which then connects to another hose, then to the bidet seat.

Obviously if you've got an enclosed toilet pan, if the toilet valve is on the wrong side, you're in the shit.

The water hookup is on the left side of the seat, the power on the right.

After owning the previous gen xioami seat that broke, I wouldn't buy another.

The failure point was the valve.. pretty poorly engineered design.
Also Xiaomi use non standard water fittings.

Got the Kogan one and it's much better, cheaper than this one too ($210 delivered)

    • i have the previous smartmi bidet too which failed.
did you hack it up to find out it was the valve?
im really curious, im tempted to hack mine up to find out.

      • Yeah it was the valve. I fixed it with 3d print but then the electronic crapped out and the seat was unreliable.

There's a sizeable ozbargain forum thread dedicated to the problems with the Xiaomi mijia bidet

        • mine too, still "worked" but the buttons didnt really do anything, would be really low pressure, so it would just dribble out, you'd stuff around with the buttons, then it would squirt properly (not even the pressure buttons, like the position buttons), then you'd stop it and it would keep spraying water until it went back into its hidey hole,
none of the buttons did what they where supposed to do.

I'm not too 'flush' with money at the moment. :(

Looks like it was a mistake to invest your super into toilet paper…it's just money down the drain!

      • I bought 2 Melbourne Storm jerseys cheap last year, during the TP drought. I use them, put them in a bucket of bleach, then wash it every few days.

        • I use them, put them in a bucket of bleach, then wash it every few days

Now that's an interesting way to bleach the arsehole.

        • You failed to account for the cost of the bucket and the industrial strength bleach.

  • good

  • bought it earlier this year for the same price from banggood, delivered in a month. Using since April, no issues so far, really love the warm seats in winter

    • Did it fit okay or does it protrude out? I heard the size of the seat is bigger for most Aussie toilets.

      • What? You're bum?

    • Hey mate, just started getting the mijia issue a lot of people have been having. Might be worth fixing, but the girlfriend wouldn't mind the dryer function..

Anyway! I see in the all pictures this has like 3 buttons, and maybe connects to your phone - does it have a remote or something for the other settings? Or am i supposed to change them via phone?

  • This is an incredibly important article to read before buying a bidet. I'm not a plumber so correct me if im wrong but TLDR: It's quite expensive to install a bidet because you need a backflow prevention system installed (called an rpz device). And plumbers aren't actually allowed to install bidets that don't have an Australian certification. https://bidetry.com.au/learn/dont-make-these-4-mistakes-when…

It's incredibly expensive and annoying considering all I really want is a clean bum.

    • This aspect has been discussed numerous times here on almost on bidet deals. Yes you are right it's bloody expensive if you want to be 100% compliant because you have to have that backflow prevention valve plus have it inspected every so often (costs money). But then there are those (most ozbargainers) who just want a clean bum for cheap. :)

    • No it's not that hard to diy.

Only reason we need plumbers is because of the unions trying to keep them employed.it is not rocket science.

Backflow prevention device is such a scare tactic. If you understand how a bidet works, there's very little chance of contaminated water going back into your plumbing unless your whole bathroom flooded to 1m high of water.
The Jets are continually spraying out water during use and automatically rinse themselves afterwards.
If you submerged the jet in contaminated water, then that could be sucked back in. But there is no physical way for that to happen with an electronic bidet.

The biggest hurdle for most people will be whether they have a PowerPoint nearby.

      • I think when covid fragments are found in groundwater, that might up the game a bit

        https://www.productsafety.gov.au/news/covid-19-supplying-and…

Also I know it's been discussed on other threads but I think it's important to raise it with every new thread so people who are thinking about buying who might not have seen the other thread, know what's involved

  • Bit reluctant to order from Banggood again.

Had an item stuck in 'processing' for three weeks even though it was showing in stock in the AU warehouse the whole time.

Had to argue with Live Chat about the order and they kept telling me the item was 'restocking' and that it should be shipped shortly. Same story for three weeks.

I spent an hour asking them to provide an accurate ETA and that if the item was restocking that I would expect within three weeks they would have updated their 'constantly updating' website to reflect that.

Anyway, after three weeks I refused to get off live chat because it was pissing me off. They offered to split my order into two and send some other items I ordered first.

As soon as they split the order the item that was 'restocking' for three weeks shipped out in 1 hour of the split and arrived within 2 days.

Essentially, seemingly their live chat service will just talk shit, waste time and don't seem to have any real connections back to the warehouse or ability to follow up orders in the AU warehouse.

I guess it's like how I treat MSY - use them for the cheapness but don't expect any level of actual service from them.

Do check if flush tank has recycled water or normal water before buying. Recycled water can't be used.

    • you can, but you would need to recycle your Bidet !

  • I thought these are not reliable and only last a year or so before it gives up washing your bum?

    • Correct. 18 months for most people.

  • Here is a solution for the Toilet Paper drama

  • Seems to be expired, but still a decent price
