From the website:

Learn Wireshark practically. Wireshark pcapng files provided so you can practice while you learn! There is so much to learn in this course:

  • Capture Telnet, FTP, TFTP, HTTP passwords.

  • Replay VoIP conversations.

  • Capture routing protocol (OSPF) authentication passwords.

  • Troubleshoot network issues.

  • Free software.

  • Free downloadable pcapng files.

  • Answer quiz questions.

The course is very practical. You can practice while you learn!

Learn how to analyze and interpret network protocols and leverage Wireshark for what it was originally intended: Deep Packet Inspection and network analysis.

I also show you have to hack network protocols using Kali Linux! Hack network protocols like DTP, VTP, STP and DHCP using Ethical hacking tools included in Kali Linux.

Updates: Now includes Python scripting to automatically capture packets from the network using tshark. Lean how to automate your captures and learn how to hack the network using Python and Wireshark.

Protocols we capture and discuss in this course include:

  • Telnet
  • FTP
  • TFTP
  • HTTP
  • VoIP
  • OSPF
  • EIGRP
  • DNS
  • ICMP
  • DTP
  • VTP
  • STP
  • DHCP

Who this course is for:

  • Network Engineers
  • Network Architects
  • Ethical hackers
  • Networking Students

Enjoy!

You purchased this course on Jan. 02, 2021

No, I did not. I just purchased it today! Not responsible for yesterday's hacking incident. ;-)

  • Can anyone rate this course?

I remember reading here once anything under a 4.7 is probably kinda crappy

    • on a 3 chapter… so far so good
really depends on your knowledge and what you trying to get from it
no you don't need to be CCNA but basic networking helps

      very easy to follow

    Who is this 4chan person??

If you do try Wireshark it my only advise is to NOT install the winpcap or npcap capture drivers on a corporate PC as these will if the corporation is any good trigger alerts and your PC should be audited as these are used for hacking the corporate network. Installing the main app only okay when I did it a while ago.

    • Literally installed Wireshark including winpcap and npcap yesterday on my corp laptop (usually use it on a jumphost), luckily im in both the net + sec team so have an excuse :D

      • +1

I never did get my pc audited as the sec team did not like how many apps and exe's I had as a embededed, back end / front end developer for multiple languages and compilers. At one stage I have 1 x dos compiler for old utilities, 2 x dos based compilers for embedded, 4 x MS compilers, 2 x NodeJS versions, 3 x database client apps and Sys Internals now MS suite and GNU tools for windows plus allot of dev apps on windows.

For a moment I thought since when Wireshark is not free, turns out it's the training course. :D

  • Shark tied up with wire and looking at my packet to analyse how to hack this ethically ?

    • Yeah .. and sure hack any Nigerian Prince. That would be damn ethical.

      n… m fine bro… thx 4 askn !!

For those interested, I'd recommend setting up a vm as a nice sandboxed spot to do the course, ctfs and the like without affecting your main system.

It's very easy to create a windows vm with hyper-v, or use a linux distro like kali (which is preloaded with a bunch of helpful utilities) through wsl 2.

I would also recommend that you only do it if you are very technically inclined as network packets decoding is easy compared to understanding the sequence of packets and how they interact with one another.

If you do not know the difference between a UDP V's TCP delivery guarantee mechanism in layman terms or how DHCP works then wireshark is probably not for you.

I find fiddler to be more convenient for dev work tbh

    • +2

Different tool for a different job. For most Devs fiddler is more than adequate, for networking or infrastructure person it has limited benefits

    gotta forward those gamer packets
