nice, just grabbed the fox dropframe helmet, was feeling a bit exposed at Mystic Mountain a few weeks ago with the old XC lid on!

The Giant Crosscut Metro ERT sound intriguing. Get "tubeless" on a regular rim. Only $15 for 700Cx32. Will get a few for commuting/touring.
    thanks.

    • Agree - I had to read up on it to see how it worked & sounds like its sensible - essentially a sealed tyre that takes sealant, and you eliminate tubes or the faff with setting up tubeless. For $15 worth a try I also bought a pair.

I wonder whats the downsides of this approach - perhaps heavier?

      • +1

You can't easily put in a tube if you do get a puncture that does not seal. Though you can use plugs like on a car.

        • +1

True. I wonder if its heavily discounted because nobody understood what it is and hence a lack of demand, or it didn't quite work as a technology. Like the sealant in tubes idea where you end up with both the weight of tubes and sealant.

Wished they went down to 28mm to also give it a try on my roadie as a commuter tyre.

@ShoeyAU: They are an interesting concept hey. I haven't riden them myself, but we've had no complaints from the ones we have sold, just partnering with Giant to clear these since they haven't taken off as a concept, perhaps because a lot of people don't understand what they are. Worth a try for the price for sure.

            • @cyclestation: Got them, but rather annoyed that they arrived with no sealant inside. That's a bit useless Giant!
Would have added Slime to order if was warned. No excuse for such penny-pinching.

FYI, if you ride these without slime, and get a puncture, you are screwed. They cannot be patched in the conventional way, not can you put a tube in like normal tubeless tyres. (Well, I suppose you could cut the valve out and try?)
I guess that's one of the reasons they are going so cheap now.

  • Any review on the jetblack or giant alloy mtb pedals?

    • The Giant pedals are one of our best selling products over time, we have sold thousands, they just work.
The "Sport" version are better than the "Core" version, as the sealed axles are a lot smoother, but both are popular.

The Jetblack ones are also pretty good, no complaints about either.
(YES I'm aware you meant from other customers not me, but just thought I'd add this as no-one has replied)

      • Thanks rep 👍

Great prices on those brake bleeding kits! Paid a lot more for my SRAM bleed kit on ebay a month ago. Wish this sale had been on back then.

    • Ooh is this already gone??

      • The sale is still on currently, ends at 1 minute to midnight on the 30th June
I think Crys means he wished it was on a month ago.
