    NIB????? AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

As someone who works in healthcare industry the reputation these guys have is terrible. Some of the worst rebates, dodgy coverage and can have some of the highest out of pocket fees as they are the only fund in Australia that doesn't have a "Known Gap" cover.

      Which outfit would you recommend?

In general some of the non profit for members funds are really good and if you qualify for some of the restricted type funds (eg Teachers Health, Police Health etc) they are also good.

Along with Nib, the others to Avoid due to very poor rebates (and thus very high out of pocket costs) are Latrobe Health, Budget Direct, and APIA and Qantas Assure which are actually both Nib masquerading under different names.

        Hope this helps.

  • Just out of curiosity I have a question for anyone who might know.I already have extra cover but have run out of my yearly limit for one of the services. If I sign up with this attend a few sessions and than close my account before 6 week dose that mean I will get free rebate on my sessions ?

    • Haven't looked into this one but generally these deals give you something like the 6 weeks that occur after the first paid 90 days free to avoid people doing that.

      • So I have to pay for 3 months before the free 6 weeks? That makes sense

        • Yep that's what I meant to say
