          Note they are different card. The one at Coles are 'Ultimate Gift Cards', while the one from Woolworths are 'The Card Network'.

          TCN Cards can be used online, while Ultimate can't.

            @mastablasta: True but many staff think it is a GC and will stop you, at least in Coles. Best to keep it hidden and flash a CC while staff are around. The POS will allow it.

                  @Craze: I had to fill in my detail so they can refund the payment to my credit card. Of course, the gift cards had to return to them. 15 minutes of my life was gone.

                  It was the system that rejects it, not the staff.

      MCC 5812. Unfortunately this is not really advertised, you would need to ask the merchant if they know what MCC they are loaded under (chances are they will have no idea though).

              @cloudy: let me clarify it, restaurant cards worked in nearly all restaurants I tried from small family business restaurant, asian restaurant to fine dining, fast food like KFC, Hungry Jack, Maccas…, TGIF, Bubble Tea, Share Tea, Gong Cha…

              It even work with Uber Eats, Liven apps which open to even more shops.

              Just ignore the surprise part, it has different meaning and I don't want to go into detail. Just consider it like Easter Egg and if you can read between the line you should have now been able to figure out what I mean.

              This is the best card, just not all restaurants allow you to split payment so I use the small left over amount in fastfood like KFC or Dominos Pizza, they allow split payment.

              TCN is newer company but they really got a great product with their cards. You can also convert this to Virtual Mastercard Debit and it can be added to Google Pay and used with Liven app, Uber Eats or online order.

              Physical card is EFTPOS so it can only be used in store. Some restaurants may have surcharge for credit card but not EFTPOS, i.e Saving transaction

                I’m keen, I just remember a thread in December where people were reporting lots of changes and not working etc. no one wants to be stuck with a card they dunno where to use.

                  @cloudy: You need to convert it to Virtual Mastercard and you can use it with Liven app or Uber Eats. I am using it right now. Whatever hiccups they had from the beginning has been ironed out now.

                  I used it to buy Care Package and even used it to pay as well in Liven app for shops not in Care Package.

    Verrry vague: "You can use The Restaurant Gift Card at restaurants that accept eftpos around Australia. Please note the card will not work at Fast Food, Casual Dining or Quick Service restaurants or venues operating under those merchant category codes."
    ALSO if your bill is more than the eftpos gift card you'd have to ask the venue to split the bill to fit your exact amount on the card which no-one wants to do… and either you forfeit what you don't spend if your bill is less than the card, or go to another restaurant and say you want to split your bill with …yourself, and use up whatever is left on the card. Either way it's awkward.

        If you want 5, then pay for 4, then buy the last one (make sure you scan the card for both transactions). You should get all the discount on the last one. You can accumulate more than $10 and choose which transaction to spend it on. Read the FAQ on everydayrewards website: The maximum amount you can accumulate Everyday Rewards dollars on your Everyday Rewards card at any one time is $4,500 Everyday Rewards dollars (equivalent to 900,000 Everyday Rewards points).

      Works out to be the same discount. Purchasing a $100 Gift Card at Woolworths will earn you 2000 points (worth $10), so also 10% off.

      Benefits of purchasing from Coles: Straight 10% off (no need to hold points for discount on future shop)
      Benefits of purchasing from Woolworths: Gift Card can be used online (unlike Ultimate Gift Cards from Coles)

        Coles:
        $90 for $100 value = 90/100 = 10% discount

        Woollies:

        $100 for $100+$10(gift card value) = 100/110 = 9.09% (assuming $10 gift card = $10)

          I am not following your logic. You spend $100 at woolworths you get $10 back the next time you buy something, so you effectively only spent $90 for a $100 gift card, which is 10% off.

              @SnoozeAndLose: Yes you effectively pay $90 with Woolworths and you get $100 gift card value. So the same percentage off as Coles. I don't think you understand how this offer works. You don't get $110 on the gift card, you get $10 back on a future shop at Woolworths. Make sure you actually read what the bargain is before you start spreading misinformation next time.

                In coles, you only need to spend $90 and in Woolies, you are spending $100. you can not subtract the extra value you get as it is not cash. especially you are you paying $10 for a $10 woollies gift card these days.

                Another example Coles spend $50 4 weeks to get 10,000 points.

                You need to paid $200 and get $200 + $50 in Coles creadit(which it is not cash) so it is effective $200/$250 = 20% discount and not $150/$200 = 25% discount.

                What you need to pay is critical here. if you are getting cash back then it will different

                Amex Deal spend $50 get $10 cashback then you can directly subtract the amount you need to pay.

                Hope you can understand, if you still don't understand/try not to understand, then I really cant help any more.

            $30 - 600pts
            $50 -1000pts
            $100 - 2000pts

            So it is best to buy $100 card.

      Seems to work after the 10 cards limit when purchasing at one time. I did 10 and then the mrs went over another self checkout and got another 3, which gives me another 6000 points on the $100 card after the 20,000 on the other 10. You need to check the screen, scan your rewards card and then scan the gift card, it should say how many points on the upper right hand.
