Top Loader Washing Machine Recommendations?

I am looking for a good 10kg top loader washing machine. My price budget is up to $1,200 (but if it's cheaper then great, can't seem to find cheap 10kg ones). I've been looking around good guys and bing lee but the reviews on product reviews aren't too great. Does anybody have some recommendations?

The best one I could find so far: https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/lg-wtg1034wf-wtg10…

  • Curious why you would choose a top loader rather than a front loader?

    • +1

I'm sick of the little scum lines that stay on my front loader
I've used machine wash, I manually wipe out the rubber seals… And I hate not being able to add something mid wash

      • because you don't leave the door open

    • Why wouldn't you?

I've grew up with a top loader and its so much easier to use than a front loader. I have a front loader dryer and that is a hassle to put things into.

      • Hi - which brand and model you went for please? I am looking for a top loader and not having to shop for a top-loader for the past 20 years (yes my current one is giving up after 20 years of service) I am a bit lost. So any tips from you will help me please.

Because he wants one. Last time I looked we still have free choice on the type of washing machine we can purchase.

Do we not also have the choice to ask people the reason why they are making a certain decision?

You live in our modern world. You know the answer to that.

  • $895 for LG Top Load, do it !!!

Honestly, most of the ProductReview entries are by angry people who didn't read the instructions or tried to wash too small a load in a Large Washing Machine.

    • Do you have this product? This is the one I was after (but in black). Any issues with it? or Anything that is annoying?

      • I have the LG Top Loader.

There is a lot of room and what you wash doesn't tangle because it agitates clockwise then counterclockwise.

You just have drop the clothes in and push the Program and Go.

I don't see any problem with it.
I don't think black is available in Australia (not at this price anyway).

  • I have a LG top loader. It was awesome until the lid started rusting and LG were total bastards about doing something (nothing) about it. Expect them to flat out refuse to acknowledge they have responsibilities under ACL.

    • I had trouble with my LG top loader and LG customer non service were ….
I got hold of the manager, and he was so apologetic, he said someone would be looking after me. They said hello, and that was the end of their contact until I got hold of the manager again.
LG customer care really don't care

So I finally got my money back, and I got the F&P 10kg top loader. Not a bad machine. You just have to set it to bulky all the time, as it adds more water that way. If you add more water by keeping the lid open and using a hose, it starts to drain the water in the tub!
There is a hack where you can take the lid catch off so as to fool the lid is still closed. And I think there is a hack where you can remove the back top part of the machine and adjust the water level via a screw on a pressure diaphragm, but I have not done that yet

  • I have had 2 Simpson Top Loaders (7.5kg) for myself over 20 years and 2 others for my mother over a slightly lesser period.

I like those because initially they were the mechanical dials which saves me from being told the motherboard is gone.

But the later models of the Simpsons have also gone electronic unfortunately but are still OK, I also liked the Simpson as they have a Eco water saving option.

I do not need super finessed options for washing, just normal and delicates

  • Using the Fisher and Paykel base model 10kg for the last year and super happy with it. I hear that the fancy ones with different settings don't actually work that great.
