Dewalt DCM572N-XE 54V FlexVolt XR Blower - Skin Only $139 Delivered @ Sydney Tools

150

My Ryobi OBL1820S blower is on its last legs after 6 years. As I have Dewalt Flexvolt tools as well, I decided to see what Dewalt had on offer and found this deal. Not as good as the Bunnings clearance last year for the same model (~$75), but this is still a great deal. I believe this is a mostly discontinued model that normally retailed for ~$250 (RRP $299). Equivilant performance to most of the $250 - $300 blowers on the market in terms of air throughput (volume) and velocity.

  • Already have a DeWalt blower….. but still… must resist

I’ve got this model - it’s fricken amazing . Great price . If you already have a phat dewalt battery and charger it’s a no brainer

  • Thanks, I've been looking to start my collection of power tools, and DeWalt has been on my radar for a while. Looks like I'll take the plunge and start here - next will be some sort of FlexVolt impact driver and hammer combo!

    • +2

In case you didn't know, this is a Skin only version - so does not include a battery. It's a great price, but may not be the best tool to start a collection with, unless you've already got access to some batteries. Especially since blowers chew through batteries faster than virtually any other tool…

Yeah I'm aware, this locks me into DeWalt. I'd been umming and ahing about which brand to go with for a while, since whichever brand that would be is what I'll be stuck with unless I want to buy various batteries.

  • I got this on clearance at Bunnings for $79 a while back. It's a great blower. If you've already got a couple of Dewalt batteries it's a good pickup at this price.

  • Sydney Tools online is the worst never got sent my stuff and nobody replies from the website.
maybe only go in and buy

    • Definitely - only buy instore at Sydney Tools, never online.

I wish I heeded the above two warnings, I ordered mine the day this was posted and its not even in picking yet. Sydney Tools despatch is the worst!

        • +1

I'm the same. Ordered pretty much as soon as the deal was posted and it still shows as being picked. I've contacted their chat twice and they just say the same generic thing, "I can confirm it is in the queue to be shipped". Terrible service.

  • Has anyone had experience running this with the 2AH battery? Does it work just aswell at the 5?

I recall people saying with some other brands the smaller battery doesn't quite cut the mustard

    • +1

Gotta be flexvolt, pretty sure the lowest is 6ah and even that doesn't last very long

    • +1

2Ah won’t work. 6Ah translates to 2Ah at 54V though and that will work fine

    • Gotcha. Thanks for that :)

  • With flexvolt if the battery is rated at 6ah -when used in 18v tools its 6ah but when used at 54v its 2ah… So that'd be why it doesn't last

  • Just my two cents worth. I've got 3 of the 5 current dewalt blowers on the market.

    18V DCM562PB
    54V DCM572N
    54V DCMBA572N

IMO the 18V DCM562PB is just as strong as this blower. I find the DCM572N runs out of battery to quickly using the 54V 6AH (expensive batteries) where's the 18V lasts much longer. It's also really a right hand only blower as the snail is on the right and is heavier then the 18V.

The new Axial Blower DCMBA572N absolutely blows all these blowers out of the yard. It's a freckon tornado. However because it's 54v again batteries don't last long. Of course it costs a lot more then this.

    • hi, what's the runtime for a 6A battery? ordered one, was thinking if I should cancel itif 6A isn't enough since I only have 6A.
also is it bad for the battery life if it drains too quickly in 5?

      • With the 6AH flex battery I get between 7 - 10 minutes of constant use with the DCM572N.

Really should be enough for standard gardens.

        • thanks, i will keep the order then

    • Good to know, I've got the DCM562PB and was considering upgrading to the DCM572N as going on the specs it seemed to push a lot more air.

My main application where I would benefit from higher velocity is some inaccessible sections of gutter and roof that the 562 doesn't quite have enough puff to clear out, but if the difference is marginal I'll wait till the next dewalt promos to try and score a deal on the DCMB.

BTW How come you have so many blowers, commercial gardener, landscaper?

      • Ozbargain and dewalt addict.
