  • C&C only free for orders above $30 fyi

  • Under 2.5 stars from 205 reviews… how sure are we that the plates last several uses?

    • Also my question. I would usually prefer to read the written reviews if the rating is so low

I don't think I've ever seen an item on spotlight that's over 3 stars. Never understood if the quality of everything they sell is that bad, or it's just people with overinflated expectations.

  • Saw them in store. Finish isn't great (imperfections) and they scratch quite easily.

Hmm… yeah over priced to begin with. For some one wanting to set up a new home or replace their set on a budget I’d go for one or two of these Kmart ones https://www.kmart.com.au/product/white-12-piece-dinner-set/1… which are porcelain rather than stoneware and buy a few mugs that you can always get at $1 a piece, if not vinnies etc

These are quite heavy though. For everyday use, paying a little extra for Corelle set which goes on sale at woolies once in a while is still worth it IMO. I have both and never feel like using the kmart ones. But cannot beat that kmart value for sure.

      • Oh that’s interesting to know. I don’t actually have the Kmart set, but thought it looks better than the spotlight one. We use these https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/oftast-plate-white-10258914/ for everyday plates, which might be similar to Corelle they are also nice and light and stack well in the dishwasher

        • Yes the IKEA ones are Corelle copies and are very well priced. I'd probably recommend them over any other cheap plate, though Corelle is perhaps better quality at a higher price…

        • I have seen the ikea ones. They are good, but I could see many chipped ones right in the store. Corelle is chip resistant, atleast to a very large extent.
