[ACT] IKEA TRÅDFRI LED 400lm 2700K GU10 $5 (Usually $19) @ IKEA

170

The sticker says "$19" the normal price. The article code is 903.653.02 which is NOT the same code as the one from the link, not sure why. HomeAssistant/zigbee2mqtt picked it up right away (6 times on/off) and it allows to control the brightness, the booklet says "do not use with wired dimmers".

There were 100+ today, bought 4.

    The article code is 903.653.02

Sticker is misleading. Normal price at Ikea is $10 for the warm white, which is still good, so $5 is a bargain.

903.653.02 code is an old model, replaced by the $10 one above.

The lamp you linked at $20 is the variable cool/warm white version.

IMHO, the best way to use these with Home Assistant is via a Philips Hue hub.

    • I did not take a picture (my bad) but still pretty sure they claimed it is more than 10$ :)
aaaanyway how is philips better than zigbee sniffer?

      • I haven't used zigbee sniffer/CC2531 but the only person who things the Hue Hub is decent is probably work for sales at Phillips. I'd rather use light switches again than rely on a Hue Hub. I presently have a Conbee2 running but thats bare boards are getting cheaper by the day.

      • how is philips better than zigbee sniffer?

Hue gives siri/alexa/google integration, more reliable and faster response to switches, and keeps my old automations and such until I figure out how to do better in HA.
And lights keep working if I make a mistake and break HA.

And finally, I have too many devices. With 45 on the Hue, and 29 on the Sonoff bridge, they cope :-)

  • Do these connect directly to smatthings?

    • I'm sure they would. All other Ikea Zigbee devices that I tried succeeded.

Yes they do. I have several working well through my v3 hub

  • These are great bulbs. I bought the 3-pack with dimmer switch and it all integrates nicely with a Philips Hue bridge.

    The sticker says "19$"

    I bet it doesn't…

  • "do not use with wired dimmers".

    Why not?

Because as you turn down the dimmer it will reduce the voltage to the light and the light will just start flashing and disconnect from the network then turn off completely. It will work on a dimmer connected switch as long as you don't use the dimmer dial and instead dim the light via software.

it will reduce the voltage to the light and the light will just start flashing and disconnect from the network then turn off completely

        Will that damage it?

        • Quite possibly if you did it continuously. I haven't tested that scenario.

      • the dimmer it will reduce the voltage to the light

That is not how dimmers work.

        • OK sorry. I'm not an electrician. Regardless, smartlights do not play well with traditional dimmers. I know this from personal experience.

smartlights do not play well with traditional dimmers

Nor do most dumblights these days. Wired dimmers at the wall switch are designed for resistive incandescent lamps.
Even LEDs that claim to be dimmable do not do it well. Smart-bulbs like these are much better.

People still spend a fortune on C-bus systems with poor results.

Anyone know if these work with SmartThings hub?
