  • Does anyone know if there's Spotify controls (not offline Spotify; just looking for controls) and phone music controls on this?

    • +3

It’s extremely basic, you can’t install apps - it’s purely a fitness tracker and doesn’t even have a speaker and the CPU is slow

The only thing you can customise is the Watch faces and that’s pretty much it (I have one)

      • Build quality? Would you recommend for 10-12 yos or would they destroy it?

        • +1

Build quality is surprisingly good, almost the same as an Apple Watch (I’ve had a Series 0 before). Band is rubbery which can make it difficult to put on but that’s about it

Screen can obviously be damaged if the kids are reckless but I think it’s somewhat durable

Raise to wake us iffy even when adjusting the sensitivity and you can’t tap the display to wake it up, you have to press the side button

I just got Soundpeats Watch Pro 1 that lets you pause, play, next track, previous track whatever's playing on Spotify. Don't think you can navigate playlists though.

Similar price and decent reviews, GPS not built in though - just goes by your phone's.

    • Only missing feature. PAI Feature

      • and this square one will be less battery life i presume ?

      • The PAI was kinda bullshit anyway and I didn't use it on my miband

        • ive got a bip S and i think its bullshit too lol

        • why bullshit?

          • @pinkybrain: because inaccurate.. well maybe in some degree..
just think of the sensor, there are many quality of them… cheap product will put cheap sensor….. $300 cheap camera yes can take picture but not like picture from $6,000 sony full frame. so yeah. kiind of bulls
if you happy to see the maybe correct maybe not numbers, then dont worry

            • @CyberMurning: are you talking about all the sensors ?

Even if they are inaccurate you can use it as a baseline for improvement..
It is just numbers anyway.. that you can use to self improve from previous numbers..

Can't expect too much for this price…

    • Doesn't mention if REM sleep is tracked. I presume neither watches do?

    • +2

      Actually. That article is wrong.

Mi Watch lite is missing PAI, Sp02, 30 sport modes

Mi band 6 is missing GPS

  • +1

Doesn't sync to Google Fit last time I checked (if you are using say Qantas Wellbeing app it won't get the data). Happy to be corrected. Xiaomi has made a few of these (other being band 4c) which have their own app but doesn't connect to Google Fit.

    • I have band 4 which i got to work with qantas wellbeing but its a dodgy setup as you have to go mi app > google fit > wellbeing. i believe mi app pushes the data to google fit servers rather than doing it locally so sometimes it just doesnt seem to pop up in google fit. you do have to open the apps up sometimes to force it as well but sometimes it works by itself. bit iffy all round

      • Band 4 or 4C? This is in the same group as 4C.

Doesn't use Mi Fit app (Band 4, 5, 6 etc). 4C uses Mi Wear or something like that which doesn't work with Google Fit. There is nothing it connects with.

Going off your experience also, people just need to realise what experience they are going to get.

        • ah yeah band 4 so guess its a different app. but as you say cant really recommend for this either way

  • Have a mi composite scale 2, is there anyway to integrate this watch with mi fit instead of the useless. Mi wear app so that calories and stuff and stuff are fed into mifit?

    • Exactly. There is Xiaomi bands / watches that uses the useless Mi Wear App that doesn't connect to anything. Then there is the ones that connect to Mi Fit that can connect to Google Fit.

      • yeah i have the very old band and i think it uses mi fit and okay with google fit.
recently bought band 4c and surprised that it uses mi wear…

  • +1

Damn. Also noticed ePay plus only.

  • Is this much similar to Apple watches?

    • +1

      no

    • Can't really expect it to be, I mean, look at the price. This is probably one of the more refined cheap smart watches though, considering how big Xiaomi is. Probably better than the cheap smart watches on AliExpress for the same price.

    • Same shape.

    • Those activity arcs are completely different to apple watch activity rings.

    • It looks similar in physical appearance, that's about its only similarity. The software is mostly terrible, same with the 100+ watch faces but it tells the time and gives me some vague fitness stats & decent battery life

  • Water proof?

    • Yes, 5 ATM

  • Always on?

    • +1

I believe only raise to wake

    • +1

Definitely not - only raise to wake

  • Navy OOS but Ivory still limited number available

    Edit: Back in stock

  • Does this one record Heart Rate Variability too?

  • Black available here

  • Anyone comment on the heart rate monitor? Had to return the Soundpeats one from amazon due to it really lacking reliability…

    • +1

It’s quite primitive, I wouldn’t put too much faith into it compared to an Apple Watch

  • hand down over the band 6? or does the battery life for the band 6 make a big difference?

  • The coupon code is now finished.

  • Received mine. But can’t find it on the iOS app?? Thought Aussie region was supported
