  • Anyone tried them before ? How was the quality and quantity per meal ?

    • +7

@ $10 per meal I would say not worth it. They haven't been sub $6 for a while now. At $5.44 they are worth it as a quick meal I can get from the freezer when desperate.

      • +3

Agree. They're pretty bad but also definitely worth this price.

      • Thanks, how is the taste ? I assume the offer is for regular size rather than large size ?

        • +2

i think taste is okay, if you are big guys then probably will get hungry again after 4 hours.
but at least you will be forced to eat healthy.. (read: healthier than kfc mcd)

        • +1

          Go with large size.

        • -1

Maybe Taste like "fkin origami!! fkin orgami!!! she shing!!!" she said.

          • @[Deactivated]: Triggered much?

            • @Rod71: selfie mate? sha shingggg

          • @[Deactivated]: old news. owner's girlfriend. maybe even less relevant now if not together anymore

      • +1

agree.. and they sell it in woolies. one should try it first…

    • +8

Food is OK. Good for short term. After I ate 20 of their meals I feel like they all taste the same lol.

    • +2

Quality was pretty average and as someone said tastes a lot like frozen meals (ie it's littered with sauces, salts and spices). Portion are small and might be okay for lunch but definitely won't fill you up for dinner. I'm about as average as you can get in terms of body measurements for a guy and it would take two servings to fill me up.

I also received a few meals that were around 3 days to expiry, but given the servings, you'd likely go through 7-8 meals during that time anyway if it's all you're having.

      • +2

Speak for yourself but they fill me up fine (90kg man). Not huge but idea is portion control. They sell large ones for extra $2

        • Large ones are $1 more which I find is better value

      • +1

The difference between Youfoodz and frozen meals is night and day.

    • It's very slightly better than the supermarket frozen meals but nowhere as good as the ones from Dish'd when they were around.

    • +4

I think they're great. The meals don't all taste the same like some are saying. Sure if you get ones that are just chicken + roast veggies with a different sauce they'll taste like………chicken and roast veggies, with a different sauce.

They're healthy, they're portion controlled, they taste good, and they're quick. Would I pay $10 each for them? No. Anywhere up to ~$6? Definitely.

      • Spot on. It's just the same snowflakes crying racist who enjoy a pile on.

  • +4

I used this code last time, it's good for 4 orders then the code expires and you get charged $89 for the 5th so keep an eye out. Happened to 3x people I know as well.
    Ordering again now, thanks OP.

    • can i pay upfront $49 for example in this case then remove my cc from website?
also what was the outcome with your case last time? easy refund? bikies?

      • I believe you can, I was able to delay orders and skip weeks easily through the app.
Yep, easy refund the difference then I cancelled the reoccurring.

  • +33

Not bad if you're not >80kg male and also like RACISTS

      • +14

You're comparing the actions of a child doing something stupid without understanding the meaning behind it to an adult who knows full well that their behaviour is derogatory. That's why you're being downvoted.

You're also insinuating that people don't care about racism directed at Asians whilst replying to a comment that is calling out anti-Asian behaviour.

        • He said the child parents just laugh it off. Probably didn't give their kids proper education on manners.

The downvoter probaby non asians or non "chinese" like due to "pulling their eyes" thing, aka the slanted eyes.

      • -3

Totally get you there needs to be an Asian movement. BLM is rubbish

      • I guess the Indians don't mind? are they considered asian?

    • -4

Are the negs to show ignorance or to shut up colour people

    • +6

      What’s worse
A - high school style name calling between friends (she did not call out to the person, just within her group)

Or B - systematic racial and sexual discrimination leading to lawsuits

A is yf and B is amazon. No one cares about amazon of course because the deals are good :)

People like to take the moral high ground when it suits I suppose.

      • +5

OzB stills hops onboard with every single 7-11 deal like the systemic on-going racism and underpayment of workers didn't happen.

        • Don't forget Domino's as well…

        • +3

I’m just here for deals not have someone preach morals at me

  • +1

    I tried these guys before;

Packaging was great they even threw in a free snack bar/donut.

The food however.. is very hit and miss - especially when it comes to the mashed potato…

Feels like its instant mash sometimes.. the texture is somewhat strange..

Meat in the meals is pretty decent quality.

  • +3

Get them marked down at Coles for $1-$3 quite regularly. I've found them to be actual decent quality but I've learnt to skip anything with mash or gnocchi.

Also, their power bowls are a bit weird how you're supposed to eat them cold when they taste like they should be warmed up.

    • +2

Which coles? Have not seen them for that low a price before.

      • +1

Quite a few Coles in Northwest Sydney, trick is to go to your local around 10-11am. Most other discounts (meat, bakery, salads etc) happen in the afternoon/evening but the ready meals are in the morning.

Having said that, some Coles just discount better than others.

        • -5

Down voting because you need to stop talking

Keep it up and I'm sending people to deal with you

          • @TEER3X: Hahaha both you and OP are in Victoria so not my problem :))

Just obviously be smart about it too, they have data on these markdowns I swear and the more someone buys at once the worse the discounts get.

      • When the product is about 2 or 1 days before the best before date, supermarket marked down these prices to half or sometimes to 10% of RPP.

    • sup with the mash n gnocci?

      • +1

Gnocchi is the worst offender, idk how they cook it but it's just a ball of mush and the mash tastes so processed I'm not even sure if it's legally allowed to be called food still lmao

Other potato dishes (ie baked potatoes, potato salads etc) are fine though.

  • Can anyone guide how to do recurring order TIA

    • +4

You add the 9 meals you want, go to cart. Don't enter code at the first screen, you need to go through and set up your recurring order time frame, and then at the final payment screen you can enter the code on the right hand side above the order total.

      • Ok thanks ill try again

  • Can you add any meals for this deal ?

    • Yes you choose the meals, and can change them whenever you want.

  • +2

Portion is small and food is not that much better than frozen food in my opinion.

  • +48

Not worth supporting a bunch of racists, even if its cheap.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7653333/Woolworths-…

    • +1

On their menu, there are thai chicken, is satay chicken asian? Sound like they are also hypocrites.

    • +10

Wow was not aware of this. Will not be ordering.

    • +15

Lets forget about the racist part. Let's just say they're mocking people. So these (profanity) think its hilarious to mock people who out having a good time with family and friends. I've seen better behaved 10 year olds.

Also, don't forget they treat their employees like shit. Don't support companies like this:
      https://www.sbs.com.au/language/english/youfoodz-accused-of-…

      • -1

So they're just like amazon but without irresistible deals?

        • -4

          Nope. Keep reaching.

          • +2

@Dream-cast: Honestly that’s the only thing you can find about poor employee treatment, if you bother looking at amazon you wouldn’t have time to sleep tonight, peeing in bottles, underpayment, unfair termination, treated like robots, AI monitoring, the boundaries are encouraged to be pushed to and beyond the limit.

Amazon has had more employee warehouse deaths than there are articles of youfoodz

And looking at your deal votes, looks like a few dollars of savings and you’re happy to over look all this right.

            • -1

@cloudy: Look at all the white knights in here who neg this company but upvote amazon just because they sell products they actually want.

I would know, I'm one of them. Damn I'm a bloody hypocrite.

            • -1

@cloudy: You have opened my eyes - other companies do it too. Why should anyone be upset about anything. Let's all enjoy the pasta and meatballs.

      • found about that employee thing recently - shit co.

      • No deal for me upon these grounds. Will tell people to steer clear of company too

    • +1

      You are doing gods work!

    • ditto

    • That is pretty bad!

      • -2

These links are 2 years old. Do those people still even work there?

        • +5

It's only the founder and his partner, so probably?

          • @jwh:

            and his partner

still together? who know, who cares. irrelevant then and even more now

      • c00l story bro. needs moar dragons.

        inb4 im azn.

    • Agree

    • +1

Was going to buy but after watching that video … definately not and will tell people to stay clear!

      • +1

        thank God for you

  • Thanks OP seems very reasonably priced

  • +2

Cheers for this OP. This has been a lifesaver for me and my mum over the last couple of months while I've been ill (I'm her carer and just haven't had the energy to cook constant meals for her).

To get best bang for your buck, I recommend people take a look at the protein content of each meal. Anything with a cranberry sauce, be aware that the sauce has a decent bit of garlic in it, and just avoid the satay chicken. Wasn't nice.

The lasagne is delicious and loved by both me and my mum.

    • Satay chicken is great. Just needs twice as much sauce.

  • They’re charging for shipping now? Still a good deal, but shipping for me is now $7.50 when it always used to be free. I live 15 minutes away from their factory lol.

    • Didn't charge me for shipping mate …

      • +1

My bad, that’s for next day delivery.

  • Awesome deal

  • +3

So another handy thing it adds ten bucks (so $59 delivered if you choose all large portions)

    • Any idea how large is large portions please ? I mean what is the difference in the container size between regular and large ?

      • looking at the menu info, it's about 25% difference which seemed about right for my last order 2 year ago

      • +1

        30% larger.
I find that some of the large meals aren't really necessary, like curries etc, as it's just too much and the regular portion does the job. YMMV though.

    • +1

It's actually $1 per large meal you add, even better value

  • Thanks OP, grabbed some for the freezer :)

  • +2
    • $20 shipping for Perth.
      • +5

        Lol U ok buddy?

  • Not bad considering we are in lockdown.

  • I dont see option to setup recurring? Add 9 boxes go cart choose delivery date (only can choose one) then next is payment enter code it says only for recurring….

    • +1

Before the payment screen there is an option to select weekly, fortnightly, monthly etc.

      • Not on the app let me try website

      • Doesn't apply to large meals by the way. 9x large are $58 with this code else $65 if recurring.

        https://i.imgur.com/cxCFjdy.jpg

        • Try clearing your cart and doing again. It does work but it took a second go. It's showing now as scheduled 2nd delivery at $58 for large.

          • @dmbminaret: Ehh, it's my first time ordering these ready meals and I'm not hugely impressed so probably won't be ordering again anyway.

The pasta one was absolutely vile and threw it away. Katsu curry was tasty but 2 pieces of chicken and 99% just rice. Meatballs one is just okay, very bland airplane food style. Not massively excited for the rest.

  • +6

I always wonder why headline grabbing news articles of racism catches more attention than say a company that gets sued in the courts for racism/sexual discrimination such as amazon

Like do all these people who yell racists at YF not shop at all at amazon and don’t see all those amazon deals to throw their high morals around?

    • Importance to my life: Amazon >>>>YF

      • -1

Losers will get a kick out of trying to take down a smaller company than fighting the bigger fish because they been failing their entire life

      • +3

Yep. We all have a price right
